Belmont shop’s BID rejected by council A request by one Belmont trader for the area to become a business improvement district (BID) has been knocked back by Auckland Council. “Under our current policy it’s not large enough and there is no current business association operating,” an Auckland Council spokesperson said. “We have instead put forward the suggestion of Belmont possibly working collaboratively with the newly formed Devonport BID.
