SMACNA-SOCAL NEWS SMACNA Southern California Chapter Scholarship Available Apply before May 31, 2021 The SMACNA Southern California Scholarship is open to college or university students who are seeking a career in a field directly related to the sheet metal industry. The scholarship amount is $1250 per academic year, not to exceed $2500. Selection will be based on academic/career goals as stated by the applicant, academic achievement, compliance with qualifications of the scholarship, and an interview by the SMACNA Southern California Scholarship Committee. Applicant must be accepted or enrolled in a college program that promotes the study of sheet metal-related industries. 2. The college program must provide for a college degree. 3. Applicant must be entering the junior or senior year. 4. Applicant must have a desire to work in an industry involved in the sheet metal business. 5. Applicant must have and maintain a 3.0 grade point average and provide transcripts of college grades. Applicants will need to provide personal data; employment experience (anything that directly relates to or may have prepared them for the sheet metal industry); education (schools attended and any in which the applicant is currently enrolled, including high school, junior colleges, and four-year colleges or universities); career goals (immediate and future); and additional relevant information.
