esilience really is a buzz word at present. In the past, we may have used other words – toughness, hardiness, grit or, my personal favourite, ‘bouncebackability’ – the concept of failing one year to come back fighting strong the next. Regardless of the word, learning to bounce back is tough but so crucial for life and success. At DESC, we have been exploring a range of character strengths to help equip students with the knowledge and understanding they need to be successful, courageous and resilient learners – and ultimately, great people.

There is no denying that our DESC community live in a privileged society. Dubai is an amazing place to live, having the opportunity to experience many of the modern wonders of the world as part of our normality.
