After studying Drama at the University of Vienna and at Oskar Kokoschka’s legendary School of Seeing, family became Hanna Scheriau’s priority, although she never gave up her passion for drawing and painting. Around 2000, she discovered silk as art medium and developed her unique process. This innovative style requires a lot of feeling and painting skills and also several work steps. And it has nothing to do with conventional methods of silk painting. Although Scheriau’s technique is unique, silk has been a painting surface since thousands of years. Exhibitions of Hanna Scheriau’s artworks have taken place in Europe, Asia and North America. Her work has been awarded in several countries and is in collections around the world.

Disruption, 2012 Painted silk on canvas 24 x 31 in. or 60 x 80 cm
