Silks Restaurant, located in the Crown Metropol Hotel in Perth, Australia is 8000 sq feet with 240 seats, including a sky-lit sunken dining area, semi-private dining areas, 5 private dining rooms on two levels and a custom wine room.

Rich dishes and fantastic views of the bay enhance the atmosphere here; exceptional service, exquisite cuisine and high-energy add spice to the experience.

With a menu based on traditional Cantonese cuisine but specialising in fresh produce from Western Australia, the goal was to create a space with the regal elegance befitting of the Silks brand, while bringing a fresh and contemporary approach to the interiors. The oval main dining room features an intricate back-lit feature ceiling, hand-painted with traditional Chinoiserie patterns in parchment, ivory and gold, but the main event is a collection of dramatically scaled, custom vases, using traditional Chinese designs commissioned in sparkling Italian glass mosaic tiles. Chinese lanterns are reinterpreted in blown glass and suspended with red silk braided cords and tassels. Silk clad walls are framed with traditional timber lattice panels and a sunken dining area features a custom fitted glass sky-light and handpainted, gilded wallpaper. Private dining rooms are accessed by a grand marble stair with a timber lattice railing in a double story foyer clad in stacked slate and bronze mirror panels.

Black marble granite flooring and zebrano wood wall panels set the mood for a rather serious affair with meat. This sophisticated and modern steakhouse is designed to feature an open kitchen viewable from any seat in the restaurant. The space features a unique and dramatic wall of three-dimensional white lacquered wood planks, a psychedelic tufted carpet reminiscent of either cowhide or militaryissue camouflage, and lacquer tub chairs fitted in fine black leather. A ceiling of circular recessed discs with over 100 pendants showers guests from above and 3,000 bottles carefully chosen for the wine wall intrigue and excite the hungry palettes. The design portrays the elegance and class of the resort.
