Branding Project: To design a branding campaign for a restaurant including a logo, menu, signage and other branded products. Result: Mozart Cafe is a modern, artistic and upperclass milky restaurant in Boca Raton, FL. The paintbrush stroke and the font of the logo gives it an artistic feel whilst the colours give it a warm and classy look.

Branding

Book Cover Project: To design a book cover for a new book entitled ‘You’ll be a Survivor’ which follows the stories of two teenage girls going through difficult chapters in their lives who later become friends and give each other much support.

Result: This book cover sets the scene of two friends supporting and guiding each other. The silhouette, looking out into the distance with the image inside, illustrates that the protagonist is not alone. The novel also has a few scenes based in the park.

Advertising Project: To create a series of adverts for ‘Little Giraffe’ - a high end baby boutique selling luxury baby blankets, baby clothing, baby gifts, throw blankets and more.

Result: 3 advertisements focusing on the softness/cosiness of the baby blankets. All three adverts use photos that have soothing, gentle colours and animals with soft fur sitting on a ‘Little Giraffe’ blanket. The slogans are short and to the point, easy to read at a glance.

Brochure Design Project: To design a brochure for Ezra Care, an organisation which aims to ease the effects of illness and disability by providing a range of targeted support services for patients and their families.

Result: A brochure with large clear imagery, lots of white space for easy reading and bold colours that match the individual logos. The pages also feature corner designs similar to that of the logos.

Project: To design a stationary set using either a monochromatic, complementary or analogous colour palette.

Colour Theory Monochromatic

Analogous

Complementary

Result: I chose a complimentary colour palette as the colours are more contrasting and vibrant than the others. I designed a stationary set geared towards teenage girls. The pattern is simple and gives a neat look.

Corporate Identity

Project: Create an identity package for Chana Writes, a freelance writer based in Israel.

Result: This clean logo gives over a personal yet professional look with the light-bulb representing creativity. Additionally, the yellow is contrasting to the blue so both colours stand out.

Project: Create an identity package for MC Traders, a business which imports and exports a wide range of products to other businesses worldwide.

Result: The font, colour and style of this logo show a trustworthy and established company which deals with international trade. Please note the upwards arrow on the ‘c’.

Magazine Layout

Project: Design a magazine spread for Landscape, a new magazine aimed at the Manchester community. This involved creating an original grid system as well as finding imagery.

Result: I designed a logo, magazine cover, contents page and two magazine articles for Landscape. Professional typography, layout, white space and colours are attractive and invite an easy reading experience.

Packaging Design Project: Packaging design for a series of liquid timers.

Result: I used a colourful background and a ‘bubble’ font to attract youngsters to these products. The background gives a ‘flowing’ feel to match the idea of the liquid flowing through the timers.

Tribute Poster Project: An in-depth study into the work of the famous typographer and designer Herb Lubalin and to create a poster as a tribute to him.

Result: The poster uses Avant Garde, a typeface created by Herb Lubalin. It’s style reflects that of the typographer using varied kerning, paying attention to typographic detail and giving over meaning through the typography-based design and ensuring it fits together like a jigsaw.

Project: Create meaningful ‘word-arts’ using typography.

Word Art

Type Postcards Project: To create a series of postcards for Letraset made only out of letters and numbers.

Result: These eye-catching designs and patterns created from different letters show how each letter and font can become such unique, striking postcards.
