ut what has Earth Day really accomplished? Earth Day is considered the starting point where acknowledgment for the problems of the earth all came into focus. It is the start of the modern day environmental movement and is the reason we recycle, buy organic and plant sustainable gardens. It all started in 1970 by then senator of Wisconsin, Gaylord Nelson, who was inspired to do something to protect the earth after seeing a horrendous oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbra in 1969. He solicited the aid of Denis Hayes and Republican congressmen Petre McCloskey to join him in bringing awareness to the environmental atrocities that were happening to the planet. Hayes put together a network of 80 citizen to assist in the campaign to promote cleaning up the Earth. Thanks to the 20 million Americans who took part of the first Earth Day, several important milestone took place including the passing of the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act and Endangered Species Act, all under the creation of the US Environmental Protection Agency. This year Earth Day is promoting for all citizen of the world to act locally in order to protect globally. You can start by doing the basic simple things around your neighborhood like

totempole ceremony Photos and story by Pat Krause

Rancho Mirage, CA- Sunnylands at the Annenberg Estate held a dedication ceremony on the grounds at the 5th fairway golf course of the restored Totem Pole. Only 100 people attended, which was smaller than anticipated, but due to the lack of busing that was required, this was all that was allowed.

W

elcoming remarks were made by Center Director Janice Lyle,President Geoffrey Cowan and acting Chairman of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, Jeff Grubbe. The Annenberg Totem pole was designed by artist Henry Hunt from the Kwakiutl tribe and was installed on the Annenberg Estate in 1976. The Totem pole needed to be restored to its original beauty which the family of Henry Hunt were commissioned to restore.

Four Local dignitaries, Mayor Dana Hobart, President Goeffrey Cowan, Director of Collections and Exhibitions, Anne Rowe and Acting Chairman of the Aqua Caliente Tribe were asked to come forward to be dressed in native attire and dance for the guests. Four young children were also asked to be dressed in costume and join in the dance. At the end of the ceremony all the guests were asked to join in dancing. Sunnylands Center is open to the public on weekends with tours of the Annenberg Estate that are scheduled in advance. Go to Sunnylands.org for more information.

The Hunt family is still continuing the tradition of making Totems. Sunnylands transported the family from Canada just for this unveiling and dedication. The Hunt family gave a lavish entertainment of Tribal Dances complete with original native costumes. They explained the meanings of the Totem and the history of each dance. Dancers were Stanley and Livina Hunt, Son Jason Hunt and relatives Mervyn and Coreen Child and son Kaleb Child.

Indio, CA – Johanna and Klara S’derberg, the duo known as First Aid Kit may be from Sweden but have issued one of the most remarkable American albums of early 2012. The Lion’s Roar is a collection of original material that captures the spirit of Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and June Carter without coming off as merely a retro experiment or well-timed trend exploit.

With the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival ready to arrive for its second and final weekend April 20 –

22, why not prep by listening to four great albums from some of the up-and-comers set to perform in Indio this weekend. Check out specific set times at www.Coachella.com. artist: dawes Title: Nothing Is Wrong You might be interested in this album if you like: Neil Young’s “Harvest,” Jackson Browne, Crosby, Stills & Nash. Tell Me More: Any rock fans who relish a sonic diet of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Jackson Browne while complaini nobody writes songs like that anymore” has not heard Dawes. The second release from the Los Angelesbased quartet exudes the mix of winning songwriting, strong harmonies and warmth that marked the best ‘70s work of the Eagles, Browne and other California-based heroes of that era. Dawes’ “Nothing Is Wrong” boasts 11 great songs, including the confessional rocker “If I Wanted Someone” and ambitious “A Little Bit of Everything.” Artist: Grace Potter & the Nocturnals

Title: Grace Potter & The Nocturnals: Live From the Legendary Sun Studio You will be interested if you are a fan of: Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, the Tedeschi Trucks Band Tell Me More: Record Store Day is being celebrated at independent record shops around the world on Saturday, April 21. As part of the event, dozens of famed artists such as the Zac Brown Band, Coldplay, Norah Jones and Caitlin Rose are releasing exclusive vinyl records and/ or CDs on that date. One of the most exciting

limited-edition releases is a live collection featuring seven tracks recorded by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals in Memphis in 2008 and 2009. These recordings explode out of the speakers with Potter’s sweet-meets-grit vocals backed by her mighty band that performs a genre-defying mix of blues, folk, rock and soul like few others. There is a good chance that some copies of this special release will be available at Coachella on April 21. Artist: the shins Title: Port of morrow You will be interested if you are a fan of: Other Lives, Radiohead. Tell Me More: From the exhilirating “The Rifle’s Spiral” and “Simple Song” to the introspective “September” and experimental “Port of Morrow,” this is an album for discerning listeners. And in an age where indie pop is seemingly everywhere, the fourth disc from singersongwriter-guitarist James Mercer and company is a standout. Artist: Gary Clark, jr. Title: bright lights You will be interested if you are a fan of: Robert Johnson, Robert Cray, B.B. King, Keb’ Mo.’ Tell Me More: Countless musicians play the blues. Only a handful have mastered the genre. Traveling in the sonic footsteps of his musical ancestors – notably Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Stevie Ray Va u g h a n – Austin, Texas singerguitarist Gary Clark, Jr. is the real deal. His latest album, the aptlytitled “Bright Lights,” will make a believer out of every bluesrock fan. Highlights on the disc include the fiery “Don’t Owe You a Thang” and the soulful title track. It will be exciting to see this amazing young artist display his talents in Indio this weekend.

Secrets Of Living Longer How To Become Successful By Forming A Master Mind

By Mr. Life Extension (Art Kunkin) Without a doubt, this experience would mature you and lead you to successes of your own. There would be little point in striving for a very long life if, in the process, a person would be poor, in ill-health and be miserable. So let’s be rich and happy! Well, I have a shortcut for you whereby you can easily learn in a few hours what the millionaires would tell you in person if you conducted interviews with them. The fact is that the interviews with the millionaires have already been done. They have been summed up in two books that I would like to recommend that you obtain, read and study in the next month. The two books are both authored by a remarkable writer, Napoleon Hill (1883-1970) who also was personal advisor to Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Hill was sponsored in his interviews by the steel industrialist, Andrew Carnegie. (Amazingly, this week I discovered Youtube videos on the internet in which Hill himself is seen talking about his discussions with Carnegie. Therefore, I recommend watching one or more of these videos as well as reading the two books. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=1GCaEZscfvA For the url of other videos, Google the following: Youtube Napoleon Hill Carnegie). The first Hill book I recommend is Think And Grow Rich. The second book is Hill’s last book, Grow Rich Through Peace of Mind. While both books offer very practical business and financial steps to riches and might at first glance seem entirely materialistic, Hill puts great emphasis on a meditation he used every night before going to sleep to receive accurate knowledge through sources other than the physical senses. Here is just a short selection of his own words about this Master Mind meditation. “Long before I had ever written a line for publication or endeavored to deliver a speech in public, I followed the habit of reshaping my own character by trying to imitate the nine men whose lives and lifeworks had been most impressive to me. These men were Emerson, Paine, Edison, Darwin, Lincoln, Burbank, Napoleon, Ford and Carnegie. Every night, over a long period of years, I held an imaginary council meeting with this group whom I called my ‘invisible counselors. “The procedure was this. Just before going to sleep at night, I would shut my eyes and see, in my imagination, this group of men seated with me around my council table. Here I had not only an opportunity to sit among those whom I considered to be great, but I actually dominated the group by serving as the chairman. “I had a very definite purpose in indulging my imagination through these nightly meetings. My purpose was to rebuild my own character so

Suppose you had the opportunity to interview and talk to 504 millionaires about how they accumulated their fortunes. It would be a great opportunity to learn how these very successful people thought about the successes and failures of their lives, non-financial as well as financial. it would represent a composite of the characters of my imaginary counselors. Realizing, as I did early in life, that I had to overcome the handicap of birth in an environment of ignorance and superstition, I deliberately assigned myself the task of voluntary rebirth through the method I have described above. “In these imaginary council meetings I called on my cabinet members for the knowledge I wished each to contribute, addressing myself to each member in audible words, as follows: “Mr. Emerson, I desire to acquire from you the marvelous understanding of nature which distinguished your life. I ask that you make an impression upon my subconscious mind of whatever qualities you possessed which enabled you to understand and adapt yourself to the laws of nature.” And, in turn, Napoleon Hill then describes in Think And Grow Rich what he asked of scientist Luther Burbank, the French general Napoleon, the American revolutionary Tom Paine, the evolutionary theoretician Charles Darwin, the American president Abraham Lincoln, the steel industrialist Andrew Carnegie, the auto manufacturer Henry Ford and the great inventor Edison. So along with illuminating the physical Master Mind committees that business people have to assemble for their business by using the talents of living lawyers, accountants, secretaries, machinists, etc, Hill then describes in great detail exactly what he asked of the nine historical persons he assembled in his spiritual Master Mind committee. These two books and the Youtube videos of Napoleon Hill instructing you on how to form your own Master Mind will change your life!

Palm Desert , CA – The Second season of Pete Carlson’s “Jazz for Jazz Lovers” Concert Series with the American Jazz Institute continues on April 20. For the second year, Pete Carlson, teaming up with the American Jazz Institute, has brought a variety of jazz legends to the Coachella Valley with his “Jazz for Jazz Lovers” concert series. Pete’s concerts have become noted as a place to hear “really good jazz.” “The response we’ve had to all our concerts from the community is so positive that we very much want to continue to bring great jazz to the Valley,” notes Carlson. Pete Carlson is an avid jazz fan. His “Jazz for Jazz Lovers” show airs on Sundays from 6pm10pm on KJJZ (102.3 FM). Carlson co-hosts the show with other area jazz lovers, including Jeff Barr and Alan Schultz. Carlson, a strong supporter of The American Jazz Institute, chose to sponsor the seven concert series because ”it’s another way to contribute to bringing world class music to the desert, which in turn raises awareness of the high caliber music that is jazz. I hope that this jazz series encourages aspiring

jazz musicians,” explains Carlson. “That is why all the concerts are free to students,” he adds. Seating is general admission. For additional information, call 760-568-3263 or visit www.amjazzin.com. Admissions benefit the American Jazz Institute’s Desert Cities Jazz Programs, which foster the careers of young area jazz musicians.

Autistic-Like: Graham’s Story

Autism Awareness Month Event Palm Desert, CA- Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus will host an Autism Awareness event on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 3 p.m., in recognition of Autism Awareness month in April.

T

he event, which will take place in the campus’s Oliphant Auditorium, will feature a screening of the award-winning film by Erik Linthorst, “Autistic-Like: Graham’s Story,” which illustrates the medical, social and public health issues faced by families whose children display characteristics of autism and have no clear diagnosis and are offered no specific treatment. The film is an intimate portrait showing one dad’s determined quest to find the right therapies, the right doctors, and even the right words to describe his son. As he searched, Linthorst began wondering how other families in the same situation fare. What did “autisticlike” really mean, and how should or could these parents help their kids? After the film, there will be a panel discussion

with Dwight Sweeney from the CSUSB Center for Developmental Disabilities program; Joyce Bulifant, actress and grandmother of a child with autism; and Ifthika “Shine” Nissar, co-president of the Coachella Valley Autism Society of America. Panel topics will range from early detection to recent research and resources available to those in need. A question-and-answer session will follow. Members of the community, parents, families, teachers, as well as citizens concerned about the increase in autism, are encouraged to attend. Admission is $5 cash at the door and includes parking. The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus is located at 37-500 Cook St.

ngelbert’s real name is Arnold George Dorsey. He started his career early on as a saxophonist. Creating the name of Engelbert Humperdinck took great courage but it is a name everyone could remember. During his long career he has sold more than 150 million records. In addition to all his awards he has gained through the years, he also gained a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the show Friday night, he told the audience that they would be hearing a lot of old tunes he made famous but they would also be hearing many new songs they had not heard before. He did not disappoint and sang his more famous songs like, “Release Me”, “After the Loving”, and “Quando,Quando”. It was a magical night that many will remember for years to come.

Born in Eastern Washington (1948), Nancy currently resides in La Quinta, California. A self-taught artist, her art career spans thirty-five years and includes work in textiles, graphic art, interior design, color consulting, and fine art. For the past six years Nancy has been painting full-time.

99 bucks for art

Palm Springs, CA - The Palm Springs Art Museum’s Artists Council will be holding its annual 99 Bucks art sale fundraiser on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Zoso in downtown Palm Springs.

T

his event features free admission with a cash bar where more than 550 5”x 7” canvases that have been submitted by artists and celebrities will be available for sale, each at $99. These canvases are sold anonymously, so the artist’s name is not revealed until the work is purchased. The lower level bar will open at 4 p.m. and doors to the event will open at precisely 4:30 p.m. Hostess Bella Da Ball will keep the excitement level high by announcing the sales of celebrity canvases after they are purchased. No checks will be accepted for payment, so attendees are advised to pay with cash or credit card. All proceeds for the event benefit the museum’s educational programming. Some of the celebrities who submitted canvases this year include Ron Anderegg (artist, designer of Max Factor Museum in Hollywood), Loretta Ayeroff (photographer with work on display in Backyard Oasis), Kaye Ballard (entertainer), Karen and Tony Barone (local artists), Pat Boone, (singer), Michael

Childers (celebrity photographer), Michael Costello (clothing designer), Linda Ellerbee (journalist), Michael Epstein (owner of image rights for the estate of George Hurrell and Mel Roberts), Wesley Eure (actor), Bill Feingold and Kevin Holmes (radio personalities), Speedy Graphito, (graffiti artist), Gloria Greer (social scene columnist), Susan Hart (actress), kd

lang(singer), Bob Mackie (clothing designer) , Joe Mantegna(actor), Kara Maria(artist and wife of Enrique Chagoya), Peter Marshall(game show host), Duane Meltzer (founder of POV Entertainment), Christiane Noll (actress and Tony Award nominee), Jane O’Neal(photographer with work on display in

Backyard Oasis), Don Sutton(baseball player), Tommy Tune (performer), James von Praagh (mentalist), Don Wardell (radio personality), David Zippel (Tony Award-winning lyricist). Canvases have come in from artists represented in virtually all of the Coachella Valley’s art festivals as well as the Laguna Festival of the Arts. International contributions were submitted from artists from Germany, Brazil and Canada, and, of course, there are hundreds of beautiful pieces created by a wide range of local and national artists. The canvases are in an amazing array of media, including photography, acrylic painting, oil, glass, fabric, clay, assemblage and much more, yet each is on a 5” by 7” canvas, displaying incredible adaptations and uses of the different media. The 99 Bucks art sale is held Saturday, April 21 at The Hotel Zoso at 150 S. Indian in downtown Palm Springs - near Arenas Street. Expanded valet parking will be available.

How Far Would You Go For Your Pet By laura anne Rowell

The recession has hit us all hard forcing many to make cuts where we can. The loss of jobs has left little, if any money in savings for emergencies. Unfortunately, much of the time the family pet is the first to feel the tightening of the belt. But what can you do if an emergency does arise to help your little guy or gal?

Last Spring I awoke around 4 a.m. to the cries of my little kitty, Jade. She had climbed out through a small crack I left in an open window. I instantly rushed outside grabbing a blanket on the way to cover myself. When my eyes adjusted to the night light, I saw what every cat owner fears; she was being tossed in the air between two coyotes. I screamed which scared one off; the other one had her in his mouth and could care less about me. Without a second thought my motherly instinct took over and I threw my blanket over the coyote and punched it twice. He dropped her and scurried off. I scooped up my baby and ran inside to safety. She was breathing heavily and spitting up water. Having a background in animal rescue I knew what to look for and gave her a complete exam. I was happily relieved that she appeared to have no serious internal or external injuries; however she was suffering from shock which in itself can be fatal. After a few hours her short quick breaths calmed down to a more normal state, but she was still wide eyed and not ‘herself ’. Her appetite was gone, so I tried feeding her a concoction of yogurt and protein powder through syringe every hour for a day in the hope of her regaining some strength. By the graying of her gums, it was obvious she was becoming more dehydrated and she was not getting enough nutrients. She was growing weaker by the hour and fading fast.

I had no money in savings and tried pleading with several vets for help, promising them payment within a month. All of them said no and I got the feeling this was a story they were all use to hearing. As a last resort I asked one of the neighbors who I knew had a medical cannabis card to try shot-gunning smoke in her face to stimulate her appetite and maybe ease some of her stress. He seemed a bit surprised by my request but being a cannabis enthusiast he was intrigued to see if this might help. I held my little girls head as she tried to resist the smoke and within a few minutes she fell sound to sleep. She awoke after a three hour nap and headed straight towards her yellow food dish. Her appetite had clearly been stimulated and she ate a whole can of cat food then fell back to a blissful sleep. There have been numerous studies showing the healing powers that marijuana has for pain in animals just like in humans. It has been proven time and time again that marijuana is safer for animals via a patch or canine cookie, than the usual drugs that are prescribed for our furry kids. However, just like with humans there is a lot of money to be made in prescribing your pooch or kitty a pharmaceutical drug instead of trying a holistic natural herb. This leaves our pets in a long term state of dependence on the drug and us with a never ending bill. In the wild there are accounts of animals

getting ‘high’ to elevate pain and in some case just because. How many of us don’t identify with the contented smile across the face of a koala bear after eating his eucalyptus leaves as he leans back for his nap. Or how about the relaxed reindeer in North America, who are known to eat up mind altering mushrooms for no other reason than fun. And in New Zealand they have been doing test for the past five years on cows trying to prove that mad cow disease can be stopped by marijuana, leaving many cows unharmed and anger –free. Almost a year has passed and my little kitty, Jade, has thankfully only a chipped front tooth and a healthy fear of the outdoors to show for her traumatic event thanks to the help of a neighbor and the healing powers of cannabis. In a crisis situation we do what we can to save

our little furry ones. Even though what I did was not legal per se, I would do it again. The action and support of vets and citizens alike can aid in making cannabis legal for many more animals giving them comfort in their time of need. How far would you go for your pet? A Lot More Than Walking T

wentynine Palms, CA- There will be more than walking going on at the Relay for Life Morongo Basin April 21 and 22. The Relay is a 24-hour relay-style walkathon fund raiser at the Twentynine Palms Junior High School, 5798 Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms. Because cancer never sleeps, activities will be going on during the entire 24 hours. The Opening Ceremony is at 9 a.m. The walkathon starts with a Survivors Lap at 9:30. Then at 10, volunteer hairstylists will cut hair and donate the tresses to the Locks of Love program, which makes wigs for those who have lost their hair due to medical issues. Participants will be able to exercise and have fun while doing a Zumba class at 11. The Chicken Dance lap starts at 12:15. Ghost Light Trio, a honky-tonk roadhouse band from Joshua Tree, will perform on the stage from 1

until 3 p.m. The blues rock duo, and winner of the 2012 Yucca Valley High School Battle of the Bands, Patrick and Trevor, will perform on the stage from 4:30 to 5:30. Following them, from 5:45 to 6:45, is Joel Daniel on bagpipes. During his performance, participants on the track will be doing a Sling Shot laps and 3-Legged laps. Daniel will also perform during the Luminaria ceremony at 8 p.m., in which lighted candles will be placed in paper bags lining the track. Each bag will bear the name of someone affected by cancer. Following the luminaria ceremony, the Lauren Alaina Band will perform, while on the field, participants can have fun during a relaythemed scavenger hunt. Jared Scott will perform on the stage at 11:30 p.m. The Look Good-Feel Good Miss Relay Pageant will start on the field

at 12:45 a.m., Sunday, April 21, followed by the Strut your Relay Pageant lap at 1:30 a.m. During the early hours of April 21, walkers can do laps in their pajamas, and see how well they know their spouses in the Newlywed Game. Walkers should bring a broom with them so they can see who has the fastest broom in the Witching Hour Broom Race at 4:45. One of the last events of the Relay is the Good Morning Scavenger Hunt, set for 7:45 a.m., followed by the Closing Ceremony at 9 a.m. More events are being added all the time. astrologicalaffects By Guru Ren Yogamaya, M.A. E-RYT 500

Pluto Retrograde

Most Affected are Scorpio, Capricorn and Aries. This transit began on April 10 and will continue until September 17. Scorpio: The energies of your ruling planet turn inward for a long stretch. The challenge is that your usual, powerful drive may be more subdued. The best is the opportunity to turn inward to review, examine your spirituality, emotions and any dark side. Capricorn: Hard lessons from the past may come back to haunt you. Embrace the good that this has provided. Revisit the lessons and education from the past that will help you in your life. Aries: Opportunities related to spirituality or career may feel stalled. It’s only a temporary slow down; consider the possibility that this may work in your favor. All Signs: We may feel like turning inward, reflecting on our personal or professional resources. Secrets that were hidden may also come to light, increasing insecurities. When in doubt, seek clarity, ask or inquire first before taking action. Mars Turning Direct

Most affected are Aries and Capricorn. This transit began in the sign of Virgo on January 23 and continues until July 3. The direct motion began on April 13. Aries: Your planet begins to move into a forward motion, accelerating the characteristics of passionate, fiery action. In particular, it will benefit your business or career sector. Capricorn: Expect your physical and sexual energy to be returned to a healthier vigor. This should lighten your step and help you to become more at ease. Open the door to new forms of exercise, try Yoga. All Signs: As this high-octane planet begins to shift, we may feel further delays in movement, therefore bringing in a bit of frustration at the start of the change. This too shall pass. Being diverse or becoming more familiar and comfortable with diversity is important at this time. The good news is that projects that have appeared to have slow down or became stalled will once again start to pick up speed as Mars does the same. Mercury In Aries

Most Affected are Aries, Gemini and Virgo. This transit began on April 16 and will continue until May 9. For Aries: With the planet of communications and electrical impulses now direct, you may feel a surge of energy moving easily, supporting your communications, travel and gadgetry Gemini: Your attention will become sharper and crisper as you move swiftly in most areas of your Life. Be sure to think twice before speaking, or pressing the “go button”. Virgo: Action in most area of your Life will once again to move forward. Notice a subtle change in your sexuality as well. The sign of Aries may figure more prominently. All Signs: Fresh ideas may come in to infuse new energy into already established plans and projects. Pent-up energies that seemed stalled or contained may now be released. The challenge is to not rush

into action related to speech, travel and communications. The good of this is to see the true, genuine and positive qualities, wisdom that has been there all along. Week of April 19 - 25, 2012: April 19 -Sun Into Taurus:

Most Affected is Taurus and All Earth Signs. For Taurus: All Venusian themes such as Love, beauty, the senses and food will rule supreme until May 20. A more heightened awareness of family, growth or stubbornness, possessiveness and the pleasures in Life. The best side of Taurus is seen in their home, hospitality, gracious generosity, culinary talents and, their ability to make things grow, whether it be a penny into a dollar or a seed into a flower. The key is to know when to not to remain steadfast, to move a little quicker and to leave justice in the hands of the Universe. All Signs: Progress may continue at a slower pace. Stubbornness for the right or wrong reason(s) can test patience. Careful evaluation on how financial resources are spent can save money and buy more time. Fortunately, the higher conscious energy of this Sun will remind us to take it at a slower pace (at times cautious), so that we can fully enjoy the benefits of the pleasure principle. Celebrate this month by embracing the senses by learning Pratyahara (devoid of the senses). Best Sacred Geometry: Hexahedron (Earth) Best Yantra: The colors Green and Pink April 21 – New Moon In Taurus:

Most affected are Taurus and All Earth Signs Taurus: The New Moon is in your sign and it happens only once this year, setting the atmosphere for the next twelve months. New opportunities arrive just in time, so be ready. You may feel more energetic; you can place more power behind your desired dreams. Depending on where you place your focus, there is where the success ratio begins. Start with your heart’s intention. All Signs: The action may involve or take place at home or in nature. Release the tendency to be stubborn where important relationships may be affected. Sensual pleasures including culinary talents, sharing a meal with family or a loved one is highlighted. Enjoy nature, honor Mother Earth by creating or attending an Earth Day celebration. In your meditations, ask for what you need and not for what you want. Best Mantra: YAM Best Color: Green Ren Yogamaya is a Yoga teacher registered at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance, a writer, the published author of the book, EAT BY COLOR: Foods, Colors and The Chakras, a syndicated columnist and she is a natural channel for Universal Light.
