Desborough College Pupil premium grant expenditure: Report for parents and governors: The Pupil Premium is a sum of money the school receives for each student who is either in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) or who has been in receipt within the past 6 years. Funding is also now extended to children who have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months and for the children of service personnel. Nationally, the statistics show that students who are in receipt of FSM do less well than their peers in external exams. The aim of this money is to try to close that attainment gap.
At Desborough College, we view the needs of all students as important and we strive to create the best opportunities and experiences for every single student at the school. We aim to ensure that all boys enjoy, compete and achieve whilst at Desborough College. As such this money will be spent in a targeted and measurable way on all aspects of school life, which will boost attendance, behaviour, engagement, enrichment, attainment and achievement.
We are required to publish how much Pupil Premium money we receive and how we have chosen to spend that money. We are also required to publish the results for students in receipt of FSM compared with their peers.
