Derek Schuelein graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree and from Lehman College, CUNY, with a master's degree and is certified in social studies for grades 7 through 12, school district leadership, and school building leadership.
Derek Schuelein also received the 2019 Distinguished Dissertation Award from Manhattanville College for his doctoral work in education. He served as principal at Rye High School in Rye City, Blind Brook High School, Blind Brook Middle School in Blind Brook, and Lindenhurst High School in Lindenhurst, New York.
