An opportunity has arisen to join the team in the removable laboratory at Guy’s Hospital as a Band 6 Specialist Dental Technician. This is a permanent appointment. You will be expected to provide a broad range of work; however, the majority will be the construction of highly complex, removable prosthodontic appliances for clinical staff and postgraduate students. You should also be experienced in the production of implant-retained dentures; all forms of removable metal frameworks, including attachments; and be capable of constructing the full range of complete and partial dentures to a high standard. Knowledge of obturators and surgical appliances would be an advantage but not necessary as full training would be given. You must have an appropriate dental technology qualification, such as a National Diploma, and ideally an advanced qualification in removable prosthodontics or equivalent experience. You should have at least 10 years’ postqualification experience and be registered with the GDC.
