SPOTLIGHT ON THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY KEEP UP THE FAITH DON’T GIVE UP THE HOPE FIVE FOLD INTERNATIONALLY MINISTRY BISHOP/PASTOR RAYMOND OBIE GRANT APOSTLE/CO-PASTOR ROSEMARY GRANT 6749 PERIMETER DRIVE BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA 70812 (225) 357-5594 HOME (225) 357-5732 FAX (225) 802-0274 CELL Email:apostlegrant@bellsouth.net http://groups.msn.com/prophetsandprophetessofGod (Since October 25,2003) http://keepupthefaith5-fold. nign.com/ http://apostlegrant.multiply.com/

We are a ministry that live by faith, believe and trust God for everything. We are survivors of Hurricane Katrina and we thank God for delivering us from such a horrible situation. It was only by faith that we survived the storm. As we are writing this letter we want everyone that reads this to know that all things is possible to those who believe that God can protect, keep, provide, heal and deliver you from any and all storms that may come your way. We are a living testimony of this. We can testify that God is still taking care of business for his people. We started our ministry in New Orleans, Louisiana in October 25, 2003 and it is growing strong at this time because we put God first over everything that we do. That is why we are still here. We are a praying family, caring family and as stated previously we are faithful. We are in baton rouge. Louisiana fulfilled the mission of God haves’ us on. We have on lineservices as well as services out of our garage. We turned our garage into a sanctuary to teach and preach the word of God. We have services every Wednesday-6: 30 p.m. and Sunday service-12: 30 p.m. During services we were led to give out food, clothing and other things that one may need to help get them through the day. We do this every week. We are believing God for a building to house our church as well as the ministry of giving so that we can continue meet the need of God’s people. We are in need of donations so that we can help the people of need in our area. If you are led to donate please respond to the above information. WOMEN ON THE MOVE LET GO OF FEAR AND STEP OUT ON FAITH!! Written By: Tracy D. Morrison Asktracy92@yahoo.com Please feel free to comment

According to the bible faith is described as what we live by and believe, not by what we can see, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Unfortunately fear holds us back and deters most of our dreams and goals. In order to truly be successful in life we must first believe in ourselves and understand that we are capable of achieving anything we set our minds to. Often times self doubt sets in and we start to acknowledge the negative energy that takes away from your belief in yourself. Many of my clients that I consult with are afraid to let go of fear, past hurt etc… due to things that was said to them as children. Understand that when you hold on to hurt and fear you are the only one stopping your growth and progress. If you don’t believe in yourself it’s impossible for someone else to. You must first confront your fears so the healing process can begin and that starts with self examination, self examination is you understanding who you are and what you feel has caused you to be afraid and fearful of life challenges. You are the one in driver seat, You control the wheel of life. So let’s move forward. Key Pointers. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Make a commitment to yourself to let go of fear. Take self Inventory,(What’s holding you back, confront your fears) Erase negative thoughts and voices in your head. Visualize your life being fulfilled and healthy Remind yourself you are worthy. Embrace your faith, believe everything is possible. Let go, and Let God are your spiritual belief. Finally!!! Enjoy Life.

Symptoms Of Testicular Cancer - What Should Men Watch For? Written by John R. Davis

I

f you’re a guy, particularly if you’re in the 15 to 40 age range, you should know what the symptoms of testicular cancer are. Over the course of your lifetime, you’ve got a 1 in 250 chance of getting diagnosed with testicular cancer. While that may not sound like terrible odds, when you take into consideration how the cancer will progress if left undiagnosed and untreated, you’ve got too much to lose not to be aware of what to look for. Nobody is immune from testicular cancer, as Lance Armstrong showed the world. Tom Green made a documentary to raise awareness, as he ended up losing a testicle to the potentially deadly condition. There are several symptoms of testicular cancer that you may have if you’ve got it, including loss of sexual appetite, blood in semen and a significant increase or decrease in the size of one of the testis. If you notice any of these symptoms, it’s absolutely imperative that you see your doctor as soon as possible. Testicular cancer is one of the least deadly, killing roughly 10 percent of those diagnosed. If caught in stage 1, only 5 percent of people diagnosed will die. The earlier that testicular cancer is caught, the better for the person affected. Other symptoms of testicular cancer include pain and tenderness in the testicles, a dull ache in the groin or abdomen and a lump or hardening of one of the testicles. Treating the cancer can be a difficult thing for the patient to go through, sometimes chemotherapy or removal of the testicle is the only way to rid the body of the cancer. Also, if you’ve already had and beaten testicular cancer, you aren’t out of the woods. It has been known to come back, even if one of the testicles has been amputated. inspirational poetry from the uk‫‏‬

Silent Flight.

In the silence, The clarity of your voice, Climbs high Upon the eagles wings. The chains of doubt That imprison my soul, Fall away beneath my feet. In the freedom and majesty Of the sentinel’s gaze, Faith is strengthened And hope returned To a weary heart, Upon the silent flight Of eagles wings.

The above poem is from Chris Roe’s collection of published poetry, entitled “In Search of Silence” a personal journey in search of spiritual peace. The collection is self-published. More details regarding Chris and his work can be seen at www.silentflightpublications.co.uk

12 FEET ACROSS

To book this band for your event, contact Indie Community at 1-866-506-9321 or booking@indiecommunity.com.

Bio We write all of our songs. We formed together around 4 years ago. The youngest was 12 at the time and the oldest was 15. We started out performing some cover tunes, but quickly realized that we had writers in our midst. Troy and Matt write all of the songs we perform now. Each song seems to get better as we grow in His spirit. We love performing. We may never make it big and that’s okay with us. What we really love is performing and sharing God’s love. We really get a great deal of satisfaction when an audience member comes up to us after the show and tells us that one of our songs touched them spirtually. It makes all the difference in the world to us when that happens. We don’t know where the road will lead us, but we know that it is not by our hands that these songs are crafted, but rather by a higher power. http://www.indiecommunity.com/12feetacross.htm

Teen Summer Camp Teaches The Four-Part Apology by: Jim Hartley

At the teen summer camp, SuperCamp, we teach teens the Four-Part Apology, a very effective communication tool with friends, family, fellow students, even teachers. Apologize with These Four Steps and Heal the Damage Take these four steps when you’ve wronged or hurt someone, or when you’ve made a mistake significant enough to impact someone else. Here’s an example of a response to a friend who is upset that you’ve cancelled plans with her on a few occasions. • Acknowledge: Take responsibility for what you’ve done. Use “I statements” to show that you’re the one behind the action: “I acknowledge that I’ve canceled our plans at the last minute more than once and that this is upsetting to you.” • Apologize: “I apologize for hurting you by wasting your time and making you feel unwanted.” • Make it Right: Ask, “How can I make it right?” If the person doesn’t have anything specific in mind, offer something to make up for what she missed when you cancelled. “Why don’t we do out for dinner next Saturday?” • Recommit: Show that you’re following a plan to keep the upset from happening in the future. “From now on, if I make plans with you I won’t cancel them unless a real emergency comes up.” The words “I apologize” are much more powerful than “sorry.” How often have you heard a nonchalant “I’m sorry” or just “Sorry” as if that would fix everything. At one of the schools where our Quantum Learning methods are used, the principal caught a young grade-school child doing something that was against the rules. When the principal spoke to her the girl mumbled a casual “Sorry.” The principal said, “You know, Elizabeth, in this school we use a Four-Part Apology.” The little girl replied, “Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.” I guess she hadn’t quite learned the process, but she did get a laugh from the principal. The power of the Four-Part Apology lies in its ability to demonstrate that you’re taking responsibility for your actions. When the people in your life realize that you’re willing and able to do that, they’ll be more open and trusting with you—and your relationships will be better. Clearing the air with the Four-Part Apology relieves tensions and feels great. It releases positive energy and creates synergy, especially if it’s tension that’s been festering for a long time. In the light of clear, positive communication, even long-standing miscommunications can be resolved. People whose relationships have faltered for years can get back on track when they apologize with this level of responsibility. SuperCamp summer programs fill up fast. Parents, go to http://www.SuperCamp.com now to learn about enrolling your son or daughter while space remains. Age-specific programs are available for students in grades 4-12 and incoming college freshmen. At the website, you also can get a free eBook that gives you an inside look at what works with teens from a world leader in youth achievement, SuperCamp co-founder Bobbi DePorter.

LETTERS FROM THE KIDS! is a very special line of stationery, most appropriate for girls and boys, ages 6-11. Made in the USA, each set includes five different letters with fun, ‘fill-in-the-blank’ sentences, bright colorful borders, and coordinated envelopes. What makes this stationery so unique is that the gift giver stamps and addresses the envelopes in advance. The children love to complete the letters - and mail them - on their own! And each returned letter is a “keeper,” making this a gift that really gives back. It’s great fun getting these cheerful envelopes and reading the always unpredictable and often hilarious results! For example, one sentence is: At school, I like _____________ but not _______________. We might expect a child to write something like ...I Like English but not Math, but they very rarely do! One young writer answered this with ...I like a boy named Nick but not his friend Cory!! Because it’s fun for the kids, fun for the adults, and encourages family closeness, it’s an ideal gift for a grandparent or any adult relative to give to a child. Each letter returned is a treasured keepsake, making this a gift that really gives back! give this fun gift and get it back, FIVE times! ·

THE YOUNG AUTHOR

I’ M NOT WHAT YOU THINK Written by 12 year old Shanquelle Bibb Once on a land far far away there lived a little girl named Liz. She was always accused of being something that she wasn’t and this made her very sad. Her so called friends at school would always call her a cheater, liar and other mean names. One day Liz decided to confront her peers with her concerns. As she approached them they looked on with smirks and giggles. “We were once friend’s what happened to change that?” Liz asked. The group of girls looked on with shock written upon their face. They did not know what to say. “Oh yeah, I know that you guys started accusing me of things that I did not do and calling me names that I’m NOT!” The girls stand quiet as they are being confronted by Liz. The entire school is looking on at the group. “You do this everyday! I am sorry, but I am sick and tired of this!” Liz yell at the girls. “We are so sorry Liz, we did not know how much we were hurting you.” One of the girls replied. “It hurt me very much. It is mean to tease and lie on others. Now, can we start all over and try to be friend’s again?” Liz ask. The girls all look at one another and back at Liz. They smile as they nod their heads in agreement and all of the girls embrace as the school looks on clapping. THE END

COLOR ME FUN

QUESTION OF THE MOMENT Do you think that it’s alright to spoil your child/children? Do you think spoiling your child/children will have an effect on them later on in life?

ANSWERS: Yes, it is okay to a point and I feel that yes it will definitely affect them later. Yes spoiling is bad. My brother is spoiled and now twenty and cannot do anything for himself. My mother purchased him a new car and it was repossessed because he did not make the payments and my mother turned around and purchased him a motorcycle that also was repossessed. She purchased him a thrid vehicle and now have to take over the payments in order to save her credit. I have three step children that are spoiled rotten. They cannot function in the real world because of it. The oldest just had a baby and we had to purchase all of the baby things because of it. If you are talking about material things I don’t think it makes a difference. It is not what you give them it is how you raise them. When my daughter gets older she would have to do something special such as chores in order to get something. I am not going to take her to the store and have her whine and cry for something. Spoiled with love sure that fine, but spoiled with stuff and let them have their way all the time? No way! Even if you can afford all of that stuff your child will grow up with a sense of entitlement and never having to earn anything.

ACTIVITY FOR THE KIDS Heart Bouquet for Mom Hearts (paper, fun foam, felt, sequin, ...) Pipe Cleaners Ribbon or Lace Glue

Layer the different colored hearts and sequins until you have an arrangement you like. Glue them together and let dry. Glue pipe cleaners on the back of each piece and let dry. Use the ribbon to tie the pipe cleaner stems together. Put them in a vase, or use the magnet to stick them on a fridge.

Alternatives Use glue to outline the hearts with pipe cleaners. Add the magnet to the back to make a fridge magnet. Use the layered hearts to make your own Valentine’s Day cards.
