Edge of Cedars Art Show winners listed A successful 46th annual Edge of the Cedars Art Show sponsored by Zeta Omicron Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority has been completed. Seventy artists exhibited a total of 202 entries which included paintings, photography, sculpture, pottery, stained glass and an open category. Attesting to the quality of work exhibited, 67 different entries received votes for the People’s Choice Award. In addition to ribbons, a total of 21 monetary awards ranging from $25 to $200 were given. The total amount of cash and gift certificates awarded was $1,275. This was made possible by generous donations from sponsors. Zeta Omicron presented $750 scholarships to Hannah Hatheway and Elizabeth Wood, both 2018 Cedaredge High School graduates. Hatheway will attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins to further her education. Wood is headed to Western Colorado Community College to study culinary arts. Judge for this year’s

show was Eric Elliott, assistant professor of painting at Colorado Mesa University. Elliott grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, received his master of fine arts in painting and drawing at the University of Washington in Seattle, and a bachelor of arts in arts practice at the University of California, Berkeley. He recently had a solo show at Omnia Contemporary gallery in Grand Junction. In 2014 he completed a year-long art residency at the Jerusalem Studio School in Israel.
