Established 1997

WELCOME With every bottle of Del Rio wine we seek to capture the essence of our history and dedication to excellence. The rolling hills, majestic landscape and wild Rogue River converge to create the optimal setting for growing superior grapes. Established in 1997, the Del Rio Estate has blossomed under the nurturing hands of Rob and Jolee Wallace, a fourth generation farming family with hearts and passion for the land as big as their vineyard’s skyline. Together, with a team of artisan winemakers, the Wallaces are working their dream at Del Rio Vineyards; producing world class wines in the wild and unspoiled Rogue Valley, Oregon.

History of the Ranch Our ranch has a rich history in this young land. It began as a pear orchard, producing pears for over 90 years, supplying premium fruit around the globe. The property was acquired in 1997 by my business partner, Lee Traynham. Lee had a new vision for the property and planted grapes over the next two years. After selling my tomato farm in Arbuckle, California, our family joined Lee in Oregon. Ready to take on the new adventure we took our roots in farming and created a dynamic viticulture operation in the heart of Southern Oregon. We have expanded our estate over the last 20 years and now grow 460 acres and thirteen grape varietals at Del Rio and Birdseye vineyards. Del Rio is the largest single vineyard in Southern Oregon and we are one of the top wine producers in the state. In addition to vast vineyards we have a state of the art winemaking facility in the iconic red barn, once home to the pear packing house. Our facility produces fruit, juice, and wine for many wineries throughout the United States in addition to crafting our family of brands. Growth and improvement excite me, yet we seek to always maintain the pivotal balance of remaining down to earth. The family we have established with co-workers, customers, and friends is what makes producing each vintage meaningful. We are pleased to share our wines that we have worked so hard to craft. Robert Wallace

ROGUE VALLEY, OREGON Established in 1991, the Rogue Valley AVA has one of the warmest climates in the state of Oregon and some of the highest elevation vineyards. Located along the 42° parallel north the climate is just slightly warmer than that of Bordeaux. With the warm growing season the vineyards of the Rogue Valley are able to produce a diversified crop from the cooler climate varietals of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir to the warmer climate Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

VINEYARDS DEL RIO ESTATE

300 acres South facing, our Rogue Valley Vineyard Estate is located at the northern end of the Rogue Valley. With elevations ranging from 700 to 1800 feet, the primarily ancient volcanic and alluvial fan soils provide well drained, nutrient rich soils which are ideal for growing premium wine grapes.

BIRDSEYE

160 acres Once a 100 year-old cattle farm, Birdseye is now our newest addition. North facing and planted in 2017, located north of the Del Rio Estate on the opposite side of the Rogue River. With elevations ranging from 700 to 1200 feet, the vineyard is planted entirely of Pinot Noir clones.

WINEMAKING Our international team of wine makers is driven by a unified passion to produce wines that exemplify the unique and rich flavors of our beautiful and rugged terroir. From vine cultivation, to harvesting and winemaking, customized strategies that have taken years to develop are individualized for not only each vintage, but each varietal in our large and diverse vineyard. "I'm dedicated to producing wines reflecting a place and its richness, and I strongly believe in the wine as being a conduit for pleasure, simplicity and an experience to share. Every new vintage helps us to better understand our site and its qualities, being the silent observer of the nature surrounding us and acting with the knowledge of our accumulated experiences. I believe that most of my wines represent my origins, my life experiences, my personality and my belief in winemaking”. - Aurélien LaBrosse “My family produces Muscadet in the Loire Valley, France. This vibrant wine is always on my mind when making whites. As a result, I like to feel some acidity on most of my blends. It’s helped the wine keep its freshness and lifts up the fruit as well as extends the mouth feel. My style of red wine comes from my experience in Bordeaux and Australia. I strive for fruity reds with a deep color as well as round and rich tannins. I barrel age red and white wines according to the vintage and it’s potential. In any case, I do not try to overpower the fruit of wines. To achieve the aging that suits the wine, I select oak from France, Hungary and America. I also use lees aging, Malolactic fermentation, and different techniques of maceration and yeast strains to create several nuances into the wines”. - Jean-Michel Jussiaume

“A good wine in my opinion arouses curiosity by its originality, respectfulness of the fruit, balance, texture, and must express to its best the vineyard site and the work of the grower.” Jean-Michel Jussiaume, Head Winemaker

First bottled in 2000, Del Rio Vineyard Estate is our flagship and premier brand. Our estate wines are handcrafted and produced in limited quantities, each showcasing the unique terroir of our Rogue Valley state vineyard. They are a beautiful representation of Del Rio’s history and dedication to excellence in viticulture and winemaking.

WHITE & ROSÉ Winemaking Approach Great care with a gentle, guiding hand is employed when producing our white and rosé wines. This winemaking strategy can be described as reductive, harvesting late at night and crushing immediately to ensure we begin with the freshest, highest quality juice possible. We harvest earlier in the season as well, in order to moderate alcohol in favor of intense aromatics and a balance of acidity. By combining a compliment of yeast inoculations, fastidious temperature regulation during fermentation, and partial malolactic fermentation on lees in specific and balanced barrel varieties, we ensure that our wines have a rich and luxurious mouthfeel, all the while staying true to the fruit’s natural expression in flavor.

RED SELECTION Winemaking Approach Thanks to the size of our facility, we are really able to take advantage of custom tailoring in the winemaking for our red wine varietals and clones from each of their many vineyard locations. Favoring the “Bio Protection of yeast pitched at the time of crush over So2 additions, our aim is to produce healthier wine, as well as to encourage natural malolactic fermentation, and guarantee a cold soak with fresh aromatics. Through the co-fermentation of certain grapes, varying temperatures during fermentation, and careful manipulation of oxygen during the various stages of production, we are able to craft wines in beautiful shades of red, ranging from brilliant ruby to sultry dark burgundy, with an elegant and polished structure of tannin. Years of barrel aging in oak from differing regions of the world provide a backbone of rich oak flavors, chosen specifically to elevate each wines individual flavors, without overwhelming it.

RIVER WHITE River White is a refreshing aromatic white wine with intense fruit aromas and flavors of peach and apple. The taste is crisp but not too acidic due to the light sweetness.

RIVER RED Our River Red takes advantage of our unique climate with this rich, complex, accessible blend. Each wine undergoes a separate fermentation and the finished wines are then blended and aged together before being fined and bottled.

PINOT GRIS We pick our Pinot Gris at night to take advantage of low and consistent temperatures. Fermented in stainless steel tanks around 65°F, the wine undergoes partial malolactic fermentation, with only 2% barrel aged for six months on lees.

PINOT NOIR An intriguing compilation crafted from all our Pinot Noir clones and vineyard blocks. A combination of barrel and stainless steel fermentation is used to preserve the maximum fruit intensity. The wine is finished unfined with only rough filtration, resulting in a Pinot Noir with intense fruit and smooth tannins.

DEFINITION - Jolee [joh-lee] 1) a riff on the French word Jolie, meaning pretty 2) the name of one of Del Rio’s founders 3) two lovely, vibrant, fruit-driven wines.

Jolee wines capture the essence of summer with two fruit-driven compositions, Rose and Rouge. Liquid sunshine, these wines are the life of the party, full of flavor and sassy appeal. Lush and rich, the Jolee wines are easy-drinking and perfect for entertaining.

ROSE Lightly, sweet with natural effervescence, Rose Jolee is a co-fermented confection of Muscat, Riesling and Cabernet Franc. Cold fermented to retain the natural CO2 ; this wine has a soft spritzyness, coupled with complex fruit flavors and crisp acidity.

ROUGE Rouge Jolee is a scrumptious, spicy red blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah. Easy drinking with a smooth silky structure, Rouge Jolee is cut above the competition. Beautiful, lush fruit flavors are layered with toasty oak and a rich round finish.

After just moving to Oregon, we were exploring the local restaurants and I fell in love with a light, effervescent, pink Italian wine in Jacksonville. We were young in the wine industry, but I knew we needed to create something with joy and this was it! Rose Jolee was born! What I love about what we created in the Jolee wines is the connection it makes with people. We have a fun product that transcends taste buds and generations. I hope it brings lots of smiles and laughter to many. Jolee Wallace
