En nuestra capital fue centro de atención el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, donde pudimos apreciar las más variadas obras de arte a lo largo de sus 102 años de fundación.
In our capital city we focused our attention on the National Museum of Fine Arts, where we could appreciate a large variety of works of art throughout its 102 years since its foundation.
El espíritu del Bicentenario no puede estar ajeno a esta edición, por lo que se rescató una de las puestas en teatro más representativas de aquella época con uno de los mentores de la gesta emancipadora de nuestra patria: Yegros, El Brigadier.
The spirit of the Bicentennial cannot be absent in this edition, and for that reason one of the most representative theater plays of that time was pointed out regarding one of the mentors of the independence of our motherland: Yegros, The Brigadier.

El material ahonda sobre las cuestiones que anteceden al Tratado de Itaipú remontándose a hechos ocurridos en el siglo XIX hasta nuestros días. El libro trata uno de los temas mas controversiales de la historia paraguaya relatados por el mayor experto en la materia.
It is on sale the second edition of “Apuntes para la historia Política de Itaipu” by the author Enzo Debernardi. The material delves on issues that predate the Treaty of Itaipu going back to events in the nineteenth century until today. The book touches one of the most controversial issues in Paraguayan history told by the most qualify expert in the field.

San Bernardino “Winterfest” La ciudad veraniega de nuestro País / The summertime city of our Country

an Bernardino es eminentemente la ciudad veraniega de nuestro País, y en donde sus playas y calles se llenan de visitantes de diferentes puntos y en las diferentes actividades que en ella se realizan.

an Bernardino is eminently the summertime city of our Country, and where their beaches and streets are filled with visitors from different places and there are different activities performed there.
En las épocas no estivales este flujo de personas y actividades se ve notablemente resentida, por lo que diferentes instituciones públicas y privadas tratan de paliar la temporada baja con nuevos emprendimientos, de manera que SAN BERNARNIDO sea atractiva durante los 365 dias del año.
Out of season, the flow of people and activities remarkably decreased, therefore the different public and private institutions try to remedy the lack of activity in out of season with new endeavors, so that SAN BERNARNIDO would become attractive the 365 days of the year.

En esta oportunidad, la iniciativa adopta el nombre de “Winterfest” y bajo esa denominación se organizaron diversas actividades del 20 al 28 de agosto del presente año, entre las cuales cabe mencionar: “tardes de bienestar con masajes” de relajación”, “paseo ciclismo aventura”, “exhibición de lanchas”, “paseo en canoa”, “Exposición de fotos y artesanías en la rotonda”, entre otros. Como parte de la promoción de este evento, el sábado 20 de agosto se realizo un fam press, integrado por periodistas de diversos medios de comunicación, quienes recorrieron los atractivos y par-

Un ejemplo de esta Actividad es visitar la reserva natural de San Rafael. Lo invitamos a conocer SAN RAFAEL, un destino verdaderamente imperdible. La reserva “Cordillera San Rafael” se encuentra en el sureste de Paraguay y representa, con una superficie de aproximadamente 73.000 hectáreas (730 km²), uno de los últimos grandes fragmentos del Bosque Atlántico que todavía se conservan.

The preserve “Cordillera San Rafael” is in the Southeast of Paraguay and represents, with an extension of approximately 73,000 hectares (730 km²), one of the last great fragments of the Atlantic Forest that are still preserved. Los Bosques de San Rafael conforman nichos ecológicos importantes para aves, mamíferos, reptiles, mariposas y plantas. Alrededor de 8.500 de estas especies animales y vegetales son endémicas, es decir, son particulares de las condiciones ecológicas del Bosque Atlántico y solamente existen allí. Muchas de ellas están amenazadas hoy por la extinción. El Bosque Atlántico se considera como uno de los 25 “Hotspots” más importantes del planeta.
The Forests of San Rafael makes an important ecological niche for birds, mammals, reptiles, butterflies and plants. Around 8,500 of these animal and vegetables species are endemic, that is to say, they are particular of the ecological conditions of the Atlantic Forest and they only exist there. Many of them are threatened today with extinction. The Atlantic Forest is considered as one of the 25 most important “Hotspots” in the planet. Descubrir Paraguay

Destino del mes Destination of the month Por esta incomparable riqueza, San Rafael fue declarada la primera Área de Importancia para la conservación de las Aves. Podemos mencionar especies de Aves como las de: Pájaro Campana, (ave nacional), el Chopí Saiyú, el águila morena o haarpía, maracaná , papagayo rojo y azul, yacutinga (especia de pava silvestre), tucán amarillo y el carpintero dorado por mencionar algunas de estas aves.
Due to their incomparable richness, San Rafael was declared the first Area of Importance for the preservation of Birds. We can mention species of Birds such as: “Pájaro Campana” (Bird Bell), (which is a national bird), the Chopí Saiyú, the Brown Eagle or Harpy, Maracaná, Papagayo, Yacutinga (from the species of wild turkey hen), Yellow Tucán and the Golden Woodpecker are some of the birds you can find here.
Dentro de San Rafael se encuentra La Reserva Natural Guyra Retä cuenta con tres senderos interpretativos, dos en el bosque atlántico, y uno en los pastizales naturales. Además de los senderos, la Reserva cuenta con áreas de Restauración Ecológica, un programa de Monitoreo de incendios, y un plantel de guardabosques que con gran entusiasmo reciben a los visitantes y con orgullo muestran su naturaleza diversificada.
Within San Rafael there is the Natural Preserve GuyraRetä, and it has three interpretative footpaths, two in the Atlantic Forest, and one in the natural pastures. In addition to the footpaths, the Preserve has areas of Ecological Restoration, a program of Fire Monitoring, and a staff of Rangers, who receive the visitors with enthusiasm and with pride they show the diversified nature of the Preserve.
Esta Reserva Natural es propiedad de la Asociación Guyra Paraguay, que busca la conservación a perpetuidad de estas tierras. Es administrada por Guyra Paraguay y una ONG local llamada Promotores Ambientales, quienes conforman el plantel de Guardabosques que viven para proteger San Rafael. Los guardabosques de Guyra Retä, no solo cumplen el rol de mantenimiento del sitio y atención a visitantes, sino que además arriesgan sus vidas por proteger este sitio tan valioso para ellos, se dedican al patrullaje en búsqueda de actividades ilícitas de rollotráfico, plantaciones clandestinas y también actúan de bomberos forestales en toda el área de San Rafael. En la Estación Biológica Kangüery, Guyra Paraguay cuenta con alojamiento para los investigadores, estudiantes y visitantes que llegan hasta el lugar para disfrutar de las riquezas naturales que San Rafael tiene para ofrecer. Hospedándote o visitando Guyra Retä estas aportando al mantenimiento de la Reserva y a las actividades de con22

This Natural Preserve is property of the Association Guyra Paraguay that seeks to preserve this are in perpetuity. It is managed by Guyra Paraguay and a local NGO called Environmental Promoters, who are part of the staff of Rangers who live to protect San Rafael. The Rangers of GuyraRetä, not only play the role of maintenance of the site and attention to visitors, but in addition they also risks their lives to protect this site so precious for them, they are engaged in patrolling in search of illicit activities of timber-trafficking, clandestine plantations and they also play the role of firemen in all the area of San Rafael. In the Biological Station Kangüery, Guyra Paraguay has lodging for the researchers, students and visitors who arrive here to enjoy the treasures of nature that San Rafael has to offer. Whether you stay in the lodge or visit GuyraRetä, they are contributions for the maintenance of the Preserve and the activities of preservation that Guyra Paraguay and Environmental Promoters perform for San Rafael. La instalación es nueva y bien mantenida. El alojamiento, situado en el corazón de la reserva, cuenta con las comodidades necesarias para una experiencia placentera y de turismo de naturaleza entre los pastizales y senderos de boscosos de San Rafael. Puede accederse desde Carmen del Paraná, tomando la ruta “Graneros del Sur” cruzando Fram y La Paz, hasta el desvío a Alto Verá. Ingresando a este desvío, se encuentra a 10 kilómetros la localidad de Caronay, donde los guardabosques estarán esperando a los visitantes que hayan programado sus visitas a la Reserva.
for up to 12 people and two modern restrooms with running water. In the Biological Station, electricity is generated by means of solar panels. It is a new facility and it is well maintained. The lodging, located in the heart of the preserve, has the necessary comforts for a pleasant experience and nature tourism in between the pastures and the footpaths in the forests of San Rafael. There is an access road from the city of Carmen del Parana, taking the road “Grains of the South”, crossing the localities of Fram and La Paz, up to the detour to Alto Verá. Entering this detour, the locality of Caronay is 10 kilometers away, where the Rangers will be waiting for the visitors who have scheduled their visit to the Preserve. n el Paraguay, la evolución de las artes no tuvo una actividad continua como los demás países Latinoamericanos debido a su historia accidentada. Recién con la llegada de los Jesuitas y Franciscanos se fueron produciendo una lenta transformación en la música, arquitectura, talla de imágenes, en donde puede apreciarse la habilidad artesanal de los nativos. A mediados del siglo XIX, con la aparición de artistas europeos, fueron definiendo el perfil urbano de Asunción. Luego de la llegada masiva de inmigrantes, marcaron el desarrollo del Arte Nacional. n Paraguay, the evolution of the arts was not a continuous activity as other Latin American countries due to its rough history. Just with the arrival of the Jesuits and Franciscan Priest, there was a slow transformation in music, architecture, and image carvings, where the artisan ability of the natives could be appreciated. In the middle of the XIX Century, with the appearance of European artists, it was defined the urban profile of Asunción. After the massive arrival of immigrants, they marked the development of the National Art. So it was that Juan Silvano Godoy, a Paraguayan politician, was given the task of conforming the first plastic art collection in to the country.

El 27 de mayo pasado se llevó a cabo la inauguración de las instalaciones temporales del MNBA, sito en las calles Eligio Ayala 1345 entre Pa´í Perez y Curupayty.

In 1939 this institution was institutionalized by the Government as the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS. El Museo consta de tres salas de exhibición, las mismas funcionan como temporarias, y permitirán albergan futuras exhibiciones de obras que se conservan en la reserva y, además, organizar muestras temáticas y retrospectivas, abriendo la posibilidad de un museo dinámico que sea un punto de encuentro y discusión estética del arte en el Paraguay.
The Museum consists of three exhibit rooms, which now work as temporary exhibit rooms, and will allow to house future exhibits of works of arts that are kept in stand-by and, in addition, it is organized thematic and retrospective exhibits, opening the possibility of a dynamic museum to be a meeting point for aesthetic discussion and a contact point about art in Paraguay.

Se trata de una obra inspirada en la vida del presidente brigadier general Fulgencio Yegros, a modo de monólogo, la cual fue declarada de interés cultural por la Secretaría Nacional de Cultura, en la que se pretende rescatar los valores, principios de la identidad paraguaya afirmando ideales, propósitos y acciones del considerado Padre de la Patria dando lugar a un espacio de reflexión sobre la construcción de la Independencia.
Brigadier General Fulgencio Yegros is a play inspired in the life of the former President, it is a monologue, which was declared of cultural interest by the National Secretary Office of Culture, and has the intention of rescuing the values, principles of Paraguayan identity asserting ideals, intentions and actions of the one considered as Father of our Independence, giving rise to a space to scrutinize the construction of our Independence.

esde febrero de 2011 se cuenta con un nuevo espacio publico con la idea ir creando actividades públicas en vista al nuevo Puerto de asunción, la que sin duda alguna será para todo aquel que quiera pasar un día de esparcimiento en un ambiente rodeado del paisaje que ofrece la Bahía de Asunción. Puerto Abierto nació de la idea de ciertas personas que tomaron el compromiso de conservación de un medio ambiente sano y libre de elementos contaminantes, invitando a otros a unirse a esta labor, proponiendo iniciativas innovadoras y de acceso para todos. Cabe mencionar que PUERTO ABIERTO cuenta con el apoyo de la Secretaría Nacional de Cultura, como también de otras personas que colaboran en esta encomiable labor, como el Programa Ciudadela Cultural de Asunción, cuyo objetivo principal es la recuperación del Centro Histórico de Asunción. Con la idea de ir creando un espacio compartido para todos, Puerto Abierto organiza dos tipos de actividades que la podemos dividir en una FERIA SEMANAL, y otra la denominada FERIA GUAZU. ince February 2011 there is a new public space created with the idea of encouraging public activities in view of the new Port of Asunción, which without a doubt will be for all those who want to spend a day of relaxation in an environment surrounded by the landscape that offers the Bay of Asunción. PUERTO ABIERTO (or Open Port) was born from the idea of some people who were committed to the preservation of a healthy environment and free of elements of pollution, inviting others to join their work, proposing innovating initiatives and access to all. It is worth to mention that PUERTO ABIERTO has the support of the National Secretary Office of Culture, as well as other people who cooperate in this commendable work, such as the Program ‘Ciudadela Cultural of Asunción,’ whose primary target is the recovery of the Historical Downtown Asunción. With the idea of creating a space we can all share, ‘Puerto Abierto’ organizes two kinds of activities that we can divide into a WEEKLY FAIR, and the other one called ‘FERIA GUAZÚ’ or BIG FAIR. n este momento en mis obras se lee un diseño cada vez más fluido y dinámico. Existe y se está dando un tránsito de lo muy figurativo hacia lo tenuemente abstracto. De lo perfectamente delineado y terminado a la síntesis, a la búsqueda de lo determinante en forma de lectura simple. El trazo y el color que aunque contorneados dan una definición nítida y de carácter claro a la obra. Desde el 95., comenzó en mis obras la idea de la dinámica transparente, ya son 16 años de ininterrumpido trabajo en esa búsqueda y existe una clara evolución en este proceso. El soporte es una cartulina de extrema calidad, permitiendo una técnica mixta amplia que va desde el crayón, el oleo, los lápices de colores, la tinta. El boceto se delinea nítido en la cada vez más ligera y rápida figura del caballo en movimiento el ecus animante renacentista. El claroscuro muy bien trabajado con sus matices y sombras dan un lenguaje nítido, liviano y mágico.

t this moment, in my works can be read an increasingly more fluid and dynamic design. There is, and it is given, a transfer from the very figurative to the tenuously abstract. From the perfect outlined and finishing to the synthesis, to the search of the determination in the form of a simple reading. The stroke and the color, while outlined, still give a splendid definition of clear character to the work. Since the 95’s, the idea of the dynamic transparency began to show in my works, it has been already 16 years of uninterrupted work of searching and it exists a clear evolution in the process. The supporting frame is a fine cardboard of extreme quality, allowing a wide mixture technique that goes from crayon, oil painting, color pencils, to ink. The sketch is clearly outlined in the bourgeoning light and fast figure of the moving horse, the Renaissance ecus animante. The well-worked chiaroscuro with their mixture of colors and shades become a clear, light and magical language.

Ingredients
150 gr. de harina. 1 huevo. 1 cucharadita de polvo de hornear. 200 ml de leche. 3 mazos de espinaca-. 200 gr. De surubi. Jugo de medio limón. Sal y pimienta.
150 gr. of flour. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon of baking powder. 200 ml of milk. 3 mallets of spinach-. 200 gr. of Surubí Fish. Juice of half lemon. Salt and pepper.

Surubí fish in pieces of approximately 2 cm. »»Place the spinach into the boiling water for one minute, strain and let it cool. »»In a bowl, beat the egg with the flour and the baking powder, add milk and stir until it turns into thick dough, add salt and pepper, let it rest for 30 minutes. »»Add the Surubí fish, lemon juice and spinach, and then stir. »»In a frying pan with plenty of oil, fry the dough in small buns until they are brown on both sides. Serve with a delicious green salad as a side dish.
