SUPPORT
Loepp Family Foundation Pilot Center De La Salle is a professional learning community, and as such, we are committed to ensuring high levels of learning for all students. The role of the Academic Support team is to provide the extra time and support that some students may need to master the essentials.
Academic Support Screening and Progress Monitoring Identifying students
early is key to closing learning gaps and achieving success. De La Salle’s screening of incoming students is academically focused and includes one standardized measure - the High School Placement Test (HSPT). This assessment provides our admissions and academic support team members with local and national rankings in both
Cognitive and Academic skills. A student’s performance on this assessment leads to curriculum based measures designed by our Academic Support team as well as a multi-disciplinary interview.
Loepp Family Foundation Pilot Center Programs:
Future Achievement Starts Today (FAST) The FAST program is specifically
designed to assist those few, select freshmen students who have been identified as needing targeted assistance to help them to succeed with DLS’s academic rigor. FAST students are enrolled in either Principles of Literacy or Intensive Math and some students are enrolled in both.
Student Academic Intervention for Learning (SAIL) Our goal is student
learning. This begins with each teacher designing specific learning targets for each class and develops excellent lessons to assist students in mastering the essentials of the course. The term SAIL encompasses all levels of a Multitiered System of Academic Support. SAIL supports includes implementation of a behavioral intervention, direct tutoring either, scheduling and assignment
Power Hour tutoring sessions and administration of accommodated assessment.

COUNSELING
The mission and responsibility of the Counseling Department is to advocate for students. We seek to develop a relationship with each student and become cognizant of the students’ academic, personal, social and spiritual strengths and weaknesses. We assist students in their developmental growth from freshman year through senior year and strive to maximize their potential in every way possible in partnership with parents and teachers.
