Older Americans Month was created in 1963 by President John F. Kennedy and members of the National Council of Senior Citizens as a way to honor the achievements of seniors. DeKalb County Public Library is celebrating Older Americans Month in May with special programs and other activities at library locations and outside of the library. The 2024 theme is Powered by Connection, and we invite people to stay connected by using their library cards to access print and online resources, movies, health and recreational programs, technology classes, and much more in May and beyond.
