Fresh off
THE FARM D
eKalb County has always been known for agriculture, and the county is credited with being the birthplace of the Farm Bureau movement. We also have a community garden based in DeKalb to help all of our local families to have access to farm-fresh products.
We pride ourselves on having farm-to-table options for produce, and the area is home to several family orchards and farms to visit for fresh produce. Don’t forget to visit our famers’ markets for fresh produce and homemade food, wine and pasteries. A number of DeKalb County farms also have activities for the entire family. Jonamac Orchard in Malta offers a corn maze, an apple cannon and a barnyard tour for the children. Yaeger’s Farm Market in DeKalb and area farm and produce markets offer seasonal activities as well.
