Peshawar City

Start at Smuggler’s Bazaar, and get as close as you can get to the Khyber Pass, and watch goods being traded that have been smuggled through tribal country. Then, head to the Peshawar Museum and enjoy one of the largest collections of Gandharan art in the country. Make sure you leave time to visit some of the city’s historical buildings, like the Mahabat Khan Mosque and Islamia College, a cultural hub in the city.


Peshawar to Islamabad

Peshawar is conveniently located within an hour’s drive from the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad. Travel by road and you could pass spectacular mountain landscapes, UNESCO World Heritage sites and ancient settlements, like Taxila. Even though the M1 road to Islamabad is the most convenient, take a detour on the Karakorum Highway and you could wind through the Karakoram Mountains. The Karakoram Mountains, spanning the borders of China and India, include ‘K2’, the second highest mountain in the world. The Karakoram Highway is one of the highest paved roads in the world, and a major attraction in Pakistan. The highway is an engineering marvel and is referred to by some as the Eight Wonder of the World, with an elevation of over 4500 metres.
