EAMONN DE VALERA (1882 - 1975) Air Force One Autographed Pamphlet.

John F. Kennedy ‘s visit to Ireland was a truly historical event. This original pamphlet with the American Presidential Seal and Air Force One logo, bears the signature of former President of Ireland, Eamon de Valera, during President Kennedy visit to Ireland in June of 1963. It was originally purchased from the estate of a former pilot of Air Force One pilot, who flew Kennedy to Ireland. Welcome aboard the Presidential Aircraft, 16 pages, 8" x 8" with major headings: Comfort and Convenience; What makes an aeroplane fly; General operating procedures; Did you know? and Emergency procedures. John F Kennedy received a rapturous welcome on an emotional visit to his ancestral homeland in County Wexford. "When my great-grandfather left here to become a cooper in East Boston he carried nothing with him except two things - a strong religious faith and a strong desire for liberty.” - John F. Kennedy

MICHAEL COLLINS (1890 - 1922)

In Loving Memory of General Michael Collins (Commander-in-Chief of the Irish National Army) Killed in action at Bealnablath Near Bandon Co. Cork On 22nd of August 1922 Aged 30 years.

Original memorial card of Michael Collins Printed with portrait of head and shoulders. ‘Killed in action at Bealnablath, near Bandon, Co. Cork, on 22nd August. 1922, aged 30 years’. Pasteboard, 90 x 65 mm, black border, name and address crossed out on blank rear. Interestingly the age of Collins given on the Memorial Card is incorrect! Excellent condition

Republican Autograph Book 1918-21.

Autographed by Michael Collins and Harry Boland A small autograph book containing two groups of signatures, the first group entered during the South Armagh by-election of February 1918, when the Sinn Fein candidate Dr. Pat McCartan was defeated by an Irish Party nominee, with signatures include Michael Collins, Eoin Ua Dubhthaigh, McGuinness, Stack, Tom Cullen, Harry Boland, Sean O Murthuile and Frank Aiken. It is unusual to find Boland’s signature with Collins’, as Boland was in the United States with De Valera for much of 1919, and the two took opposite sides in the Treaty debate.

Padraig Pearse A hand coloured Cuala Press greetings card, with a Jack Yeats design of a mother seated by a cradle and child, in a traditional West of Ireland farmhouse, over Pearse’s poem Crónán Mná Sléibhe (A Mountain Woman’s Lullaby), attractively calligraphed in Gaelic lettering, and with a printed English version of the poem laid in on a separate sheet. Unnumbered, undated, but from its general appearance probably circa 1910. (There is another version of this card with the same illustration, but with a poem by W.B. Yeats). A very scarce item. Attractively coloured, and in excellent condition.

€350 Dan Breen An important and interesting four page quarto autograph letter signed by Dan Breen on Dail Eireann headed paper, dated 15/7/61 to a constituent. He discusses local issues, Sean Tracy “the big outstanding man in Ireland in 1920”. He also discusses rumours spread about him: “Some kind friend would like to see me out of public life or even dead and forgotten. That would suit them best ... when it would be more easy for me to stay on a hill side in Tipp ... The other report they speak about Breen don’t live in Tipp ... why vote for him. Well I was in Tipp whenever I was needed ...”.

Sinn Fein Christmas Card 1916 Sinn Féin Series Designed by Abhuistín Ó Maolaoidh, and printed in Dublin. In colour, with names of the 16 martyrs on the cover design, The arms of the Four Provinces and in the centre within a heart Éire 1916. pp. 4, folded sheet, sewn with green ribbon. The card is signed and dated 1918. Also included is a verse from J. K. Ingram’s “Who Fears to Speak of ’98” within drapes and a garland of shamrocks. Extremely Rare.

BENITO MUSSOLINI and VITTORIO EMANUELE III Signed Document by former Fascist Leader and King of Italy.

Original Signatures Signed Official document in Italian, signed at the conclusion by “Mussolini” and “Vittorio Emanuele III,” Mussolini is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of Fascism. He became the Prime Minister of Italy in 1922 and began using the title “II Duce” by 1925. Although considered to be a great economic politician, his infulence in World War II and alliance with Germany proved to be his downfall. In 1945 he was executed by firing squad. The body of Mussolini was taken to the Piazzale Loreto and hung upside down on meathooks from the roof of a gas station, then stoned by civilians from below. Victor Emmanuel III was King of Italy from 1900 -1946. During his long reign he saw the rise and fall of Fascism in his own country. Document is 240 x 375 mm in size and dated November 14, 1929. In fine condition.

Autographed Book - Why England Slept London, Sidgwick & Jackson, 1962. pp. 192. Blue paper boards. Very good in dust jacket. Signature of John Fitzgerald Kennedy loosely inserted on a single sheet. Also enclosed is a note from Sean T. Ó Ceallaigh (President of Ireland 1945-59) to his sister-in-law Agnes: “I promised to get you the U.S. President’s autograph. Here it is. I cannot read it. Maybe you can. We are off to Rome, Love Sean T. / Forgive the scrawl”.

HARRY HOUDINI (1874 - 1926)

Autographed headed note paper from the magician’s NYC residence. Houdini purchased a four story brownstone building located at 278, West 113th street in Manhattan, New York City in 1904. The building served as Houdini’s home and base of operation up until his death in 1926. On the third floor was Houdini’s personal study and impressive library. After his death, his tremendous collection of books about were donated to the United States Library Of Congress. Folded in fore sections - 5” x 8”, in excellent condition.

ANDY WARHOL (1928-1987)

Signed on the lower left hand side in black felf-tip. Colour art book photograph in Warhol's 1975 painting of Rolling Stones Mick Jagger. American Painter, filmmaker and leader of the pop movement Warhol spent most of his time making individual portraits of the rich and famous. 180 x 180 mm In time Warhol's activities became more and more entrepreneurial. He started the magazine Interview and in it he said - "Making money is art, and working is art and good business is the best art."

PINK FLOYD

Autographed Poster

Roger Waters & Nick Mason Movie poster - 660 x 840 mm The Wall in blue felt tip. The Wall was a highly acclaimed rock opera by Pink Floyd. In fine condition. Pink Floyd are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful rock music groups of all time. It is estimated that they have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States. The Wall concept also spawned a film. The original plan was to be a mixture of live concert footage and animated scenes. Waters was screen-tested but quickly discarded. Bob Geldof was asked to take the role of Pink.

THE STONE ROSES

Limited Edition print signed by all 4 members Produced by Matt Squire (brother of guitarist John) who was the band’s photographer in late 1980’s. The cover photograph for The Stone Roses second single, Sally Cinnamon, was taken by Matt Squire outside a newsagent on Grosvenor Street, Manchester. Each print is signed & numbered by all members of The Stone Roses. The photographs are printed on 310g.s.m. heavyweight Hahnemuhle German Etching, a beautiful archival quality paper, using the Giclée process with Epson UltraChrome K3 Inks Limited Edition of 100, Giclée prints from the original negative 12” x 16”.

Autographed movie poster by Henry Hill Henry Hill, the man who inspired Goodfellas, portrayed by Ray Liotta, in the movie. Goodfellas was directed by Martin Scorsese. The film follows the rise and fall of an elite group of gangsters spanning three decades, 430 x 360 mm. Often considered one of the greatest films of all time.

George Best sitting with Manchester United manager Matt Busby after winning the European Cup in 1968. In the same year he was named European footballer of the year. In 2005 Belfast City Airport was renamed George Best Belfast City Airport as a tribute to him. There is a saying in Best’s native Belfast: “Maradona good, Pelé better, George best.”

MUHAMMAD ALI

Famous black and white reproduction photo of Muhammad Ali taunting a fallen Sonny Liston with written caption underneath photo “Muhammad Ali v Sonny Liston – First round, first minute.” Signed by Ali along the top in silver felt-tip. 8 x 10. In fine condition. This fight, which was held in May 1965, was the rematch and Ali’s first defense of his title. Ali won by a knockout in the first round as a result of what came to be called the “phantom punch”.

Time Magazine – Signed by Ali on July 14th, 1980. A depleted Muhammad Ali sits slumped in his corner after suffering a crushing defeat to Larry Holmes. Ali would only go on to fight once more and, as the magazine heading states. The item comes with a fine hand made leather box, titled in gilt, preserving the unique item.

Bruce Lee, the founder of Jeet Kune was one of the most influential martial artists of all time. He is often credited with helping to change the way Asians were presented in American films. Sparking a surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West in the 1970s. He died in Kowloon Tong on July 20, 1973 at the age of 32.
