Mr Koyuncu’s experience of the security industry allowed him to see that there was room in the market for a professional training company. With this in mind, in 2006 Erdal Koyuncu founded Regalis Group, the first professional and approved security training company established by an entrepreneur of Turkish origin in the UK. It delivers a variety of programs, including the SIA (Security Industry Authority) and since 2008, has trained 750 people. At present he is studying for an MSc degree in Security and Risk Management at the University of Leicester. He is also the Founder (2009) of Youth Enlightenment Service (YES), a London based voluntary youth organisation which provides training for disadvantaged young people. His projects have been awarded by various organisations such as ESF (European Social Funding), the LDA (London Development Agency), Big Lottery and Buttle UK Trust. Trusting in her team from the very beginning, Aysen Zamanpur defines “the world” as the brand’s current limits. Graduated at Robert College and studied Business Administration at Bogazici University, she was franchisee of an international brand with 7 stores in multiple shopping malls between 1988 and 1992. As the founder of the International Brand Silk & Cashmere, she has been its chairman and CEO since 1992. She is married and a mother of two, Ferhat and Yasemin.
Total Fashion Group and OMG Production are a consultancy & creative studio led by Nesley Nazari launched in 2008. Nesley also owns a production company that produces shoots for magazines such as GQ Turkey and Jocks&Nerds, Toni and Guy, Harrods Magazine. Nesley builds bridges through awareness between UK and Turkish brands via key editorials, combining this with trade publications to support wholesale businesses in both countries.
Nilufer Danis is a successful businesswoman, Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) & garden designer specialising in private and large commercial projects such as domestic gardens, urban squares, housing developments, schools and parks. She won the gold medal and the Best Show Garden award in the low cost high impact gardens category at the Hampton Court Flower Show last year( first competition entry) . She has 6.5 years’ experience working as a self-employed landscape architect and garden designer nationwide and internationally. Her latest project is to design the first public park in Gibraltar, providing all aspects of landscape design services (master planning to detailing, hard and soft and consultancy) for Gibraltar’s government. The park opens to public in April 2014. Originally from Turkey, Nilufer moved to the UK in 2000, after completing her BS in Landscape Architecture. She continued her education, completing an MA at the University of Greenwich and Chartership.

Pitacs Ltd, was founded by Levent Aci in London in 1989, supplying panel radiators produced in Turkey in the heating sector when it was first established. Later on, electric cables and special design radiators were added to their business portfolio. Now, Pitacs Ltd Milton Keynes has a building of 140.000 sqf and with its 50 workers in the sector of wholesale and DIY. Prominent companies in the DIY sector, like B&Q, Wickes, Homebase and Travis Perkins are among its customers. Additionally, it has a network of customers as a wholesaler and showroom holder. Apart from the UK, it has a network of distribution in almost every European city. As a company, they aim to take part in all sector-related international expositions and spread the word of their trademark and quality. Currently Pitacs Ltd maintains cable cutting and packing machines at their building in Milton Keynes. Moreover, they undertake the distribution of their products within their own means and with their own vehicles in and around London.
In 2004 Touker Suleyman found himself with a rundown shop on Jermyn Street, an inherited debt of £500,000 and a pile of old stock. After spending almost 30 years as a manufacturer for retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Suleyman and his brother Mustafa had decided to take the plunge into retailing. Buying Hawes & Curtis for £1, the plan was to build a rather worn and fading shirt shop into a luxury brand. To that end, he rolled out 12 shops in the following 18 months. There are now 24 Hawes & Curtis stores in the UK and one in Cologne, Germany. There is also a transactional web site that accounts for about 10% of the business. A Flagship store will be opened on Jermyn Street. Suleyman says that, four years on, before the end of this year, they will launch three more stores in the UK and he hopes to build the brand to 75 in the next two years. The retailer is also eyeing franchise opportunities in Russia, India and the Far East, as well as a New York flagship.
In 1990, Ugur Yilmaz moved to UK to pursue his studies in Computer Science at Westminster University, with direct entry to second year studies. Ugur established his first company in 1995, specialising in import and export of computer parts. He diversified from that saturated market and established Intech Centre, a leading training, career services, examination and technology centre in London in 1999. Simultaneously, he setup USBEM, distributor of the world’s largest education group’s products in Turkey. He is currently the Founder and the Director of Intech Centre, USBEM and ICU English. Under Ugur’s leadership, over the last 14 years, Intech Centre and USBEM have grown rapidly to become leading providers in their markets serving over 40,000 customers a year jointly.
