Welcome to Georgia Wildlife Federation’s 2018 Fisharama/Turkeyrama We are excited to kick off a new year of outdoor adventures and I encourage you to come out and see some of the new stuff that should be in your tackle box or in your turkey vest for 2018. We’ll have seminars to make you more successful in the field and on the water, vendors that are true experts on their wares, and demonstrations that will entertain. Though this show kicks off the spring, I’d like to remind you of one of our most popular winter programs at Georgia Wildlife Federation, our Georgia Hunters for the Hungry. With help from Arby’s Restaurants and Walmart, Georgia Wildlife Federation contracts with deer processors around the state to pay for the processing of deer donated by hunters. The ground venison is then given to food banks across the state to benefit the state’s most needy folks. Georgia’s hunters, through Georgia Hunters for the Hungry, have provided roughly 1,000,000 servings of high quality meat since its inception. You can find more information about Georgia Hunters for the Hungry and find drop off locations at http://www.gwf.org/ghfth/. Around my house, few outdoor trips start without a visit to Walmart, and it has been great getting to know the folks at Arby’s, who are really interested in marketing to our hunters and anglers. Huge thanks to both of them and to the hunters that donate the deer. Our outdoor community continues to shine by Keeping Georgia Wild and in taking care of folks in need. I look forward to seeing you in Perry. Mike Worley President & CEO, GWF
