Television: Los Angeles, a veritable smörgåsbord of awards-worthy television for your Emmy voting perusal. With the Oscars barely in the rearview, it’s time to shift your focus to the small screen in a big way. And when we say ‘big’, we mean a two-day extravaganza, with 20 networks and streamers showcasing 35 shows, ranging from drama to action to documentaries to comedies.

Apple TV+ is bringing a whopping seven shows: Masters of the Air, Lessons in Chemistry, The Morning Show, Silo, Palm Royale, The New Look, Loot, and in co-production with Legendary, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Prime Video has four, with Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fallout, Expats and Red, White & Royal Blue, and Showtime is bringing three: Fellow Travelers, The Curse and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. Before joining Deadline in 2010, Nellie worked for 10 years at The Hollywood Reporter where she covered TV for the trade's online and print editions. Before that, she worked as a journalist covering television and radio for Investor’s Business Daily. Nellie’s interest in the television industry extends back to her homeland of Bulgaria, where she first became a journalist and then a producer, writer and director for Bulgarian National Television.

● Mike joined Deadline in 2010 after working at Variety for 20 years as a reporter, writer and columnist. He was not only nationally recognized as Variety's premiere film reporter but also for his “Dish” and “The Buzz” columns. Mike is known for his industry relationships and his ability to break news wherever it happens, including on the ground at festivals like Sundance, Cannes and Toronto. He is also an author: Doubleday published his book about The Three Stooges, From Amalgamated Morons to American Icons, which ABC turned into a telepic executive produced by Mel Gibson. One of Mike’s early jobs in journalism

was editor of the well-known Media Industry Newsletter (MIN). He then joined New York Newsday as a columnist, reviewer and entertainment writer. During his career, he has written for numerous magazines including Playboy, Details, TV Guide and Esquire.

This dystopian drama tells the story of the last 10,000 people on Earth, whose mile-deep home protects them from the toxic, deadly world outside. ● The New Look

This drama series follows the the rise of fashion icon Christian Dior in Paris in the aftermath of World War II. The 10-part series depicts the creation of his fashion line, called the ‘New Look’, and his complicated relationship with well-established fashion designer Coco Chanel. Ben Mendelsohn stars as Dior, with Juliette Binoche as Chanel, alongside Maisie Williams and John Malkovich.

● Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

Following the calamitous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that demolished San Francisco and revealed to the world at large that monsters are real, the kaiju series tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secret organization known as Monarch. Spanning three generations centered around

Army Officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell), earth-shattering events unfold, revealing buried secrets.

Hosted by Jeff Probst, Survivor gathers a group of strangers in an isolated locale, where they must provide basic comforts such as food, shelter and protection from the elements for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges that test the limits of their physical and mental abilities alongside their endurance. The remaining winner is awarded a grand prize of $1 million.

Created by and starring Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer, who are married in real life, the series is a sweet and raunchy romance comedy. The show follows the lives of two flawed and funny people who begin an unconventional romance after being brought together when Ash (Dyer) spontaneously flashes her nipple at Gordon (Brammall), causing him to hit and injure a dog with his car.

As the two women dive deep into the secret world 1

of the teenagers accused of the murder, old relationships and secrets emerge.

● We Were the Lucky Ones Inspired by true events, We Were the Lucky Ones depicts the Holocaust from the perspective of the Kurc family. The story centers on siblings Halina (Joey King), Mila (Hadas Yaron), Jakub (Amit Rahav), Genec (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), Addy (Logan Lerman), and their parents Sol (Lior Ashkenazi) and Nechuma (Robin Weigert), a successful family that had initially been semi-protected from virulent antisemitism in the country. But as Hitler’s power grows, they become separated and forced into hiding.

Murdaugh Murders: The Movie is a true crime story about prominent South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh, who was sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting his wife and son. The case was made famous by Mandy Matney’s popular Murdaugh Murders podcast. The series features first-hand accounts from those who were there in the days leading up to and following the murders.

However, problems ensue with various other leagues of dangerous gentlemen when he discovers that the land has become part of the largest weed-growing empire in Europe. ● 3 Body Problem

3 Body Problem, based on the Chinese science fiction novel of the same name by Liu Cixin, tells the story of humanity’s first

contact with an alien civilization. The show centers on a young woman named Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao), whose radical decision in 1960s China during the Cultural Revolution sends shockwaves through space and time and into the present day.

This reprisal of Frasier off from NBC’s Cheers the next chapter in the life of the psychiatrist turnedradio host Frasier Crane. After returning to Boston from Seattle, Frasier takes on new challenges and relationships in hopes of living out a dream or two. The series also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Toks Olagundoye.

● Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Lawmen: Bass Reeves follows the journey of the renowned Black Deputy U.S. Marshal, from his escape from enslavement to becoming the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi. Despite arresting more than 3,000 outlaws during his career, he wrestled with the complications his life brought upon his family. The limited series stars David Oyelowo, Lauren E. Banks, Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid.

● Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie

Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) returns to his

obsessive-compulsive ways in this sequel to USA Network’s Monk. Monk returns to solve one last, very personal case after his beloved stepdaughter’s fiancé dies under mysterious

tragedy. The series investigates

happens when the line between victimhood and culpability becomes blurred. Brian Tee and Jack Huston also star.

● Fallout

Based on the video game series of the same name, Fallout depicts an alternative history, where post-World War II, nuclear technology advanced, leading to the world’s implosion through a nuclear war in 2077.
