MODERN MINIMAL Modern Minimal Design is the desire to achieve excellent interiors with the minimal use of adorns, having simplicity in form, space, materials, details and colours whilst still paying attention to these small details. The Modern Minimal Style has shape prevailing over purpose: streamline shaped furniture, with stainless steel or chromatic details and wood, linoleum or stone tile floors. The neutral palette is king, ranging from white, beige, grey and other light shade colours. The Modern Minimal Design Style is popular because it is light and free, where everything is in perfect order and organised. This style allows expressing your personality without the use of eccentric accessories.

MODERN CONTEMPORARY The Modern Contemporary style has clean architectural lines, being minimal to a fault - the featured architectural designs showcase a sophisticated and timeless elegance. The Modern Contemporary spaces have an open-space concept, with the kitchen merging with the dining or living room, or both dining and living room merging with each other. This results in an airy and comfortable living space, avoiding ornate designs. Modern Contemporary has furniture with exposed legs: sofas, ottomans and chairs tend to feature bare legs and slim bases; showcasing also reflective surfaces like exposed glass and metals. There is also the use of natural wooden materials going from end tables with a metal base to rustic reclaimed wooden tabletops.

MODERN MID-CENTURY The Modern Mid-Century Style is characterised by clean lines, gentle organic curves and adoration for different materials. This style consists of clean lines, where functionality is important, with slight ornamentation and the opposition of different and contrasting materials. The Modern Mid-Century Design harmonises the use of sleek lines with organic shapes, using new materials and methods to reimagine traditional products. The floor plans are created with a multipurpose space in mind, with a space fluidity making it seem like one division melts into the other; natural light is the fundamental key in this floor planning. This style is excellent for those who want to add authentic vintage styling in their projects, without having to go full-on the nostalgia from the past. Modern Mid-Century vibe is fresh and hypnotic, retro-tinged and full-on focused on comfort and practicality, embracing beautiful timeless design.

KANSAS Armchair, BRYCE Side Table and INKAHOLE Rug by Rug’Society
A minimally designed space assimilates functionality with an open floor plan, an abundance in light, and simple line furnishings that are exceptionally crafted and are at the same time comfortable. The aim is to create a soothing and inviting space that has a timeless aesthetic. Modern Minimal is about keeping a space simple, uncluttered and accentuating the attractive architectural features of a space. The palette is mostly monochromatic and the colour is only used as an accent, essential only to give that pop of colour, that touch of ‘life’ that brings the whole room together, in elevated design elegance.

The biggest challenge is to make a room look warm and welcoming. A monochromatic colour palette can make a space look cold, so using a combination of different shades, tints and textures will help to create a dynamic atmosphere. The different textures compliment each other and create a soothing atmosphere: shapes should be quite uncomplicated, having colours and textures creating a harmonious ambience.

Mid-Century Modern home sets itself apart from the others due to its straight and flat horizontal lines, an abundance of glass and large windows, in order to connect the outside with the inside, providing easy access to natural light. They also have open, split-level spaces with separation elements such as free-standing cabinets, and minimal ornamentation, believing in form following function creating thus uncluttered spaces. This style is unique in the sense that is driven by innovative, mass-produced furniture and accents, so if you are looking for a unique style for your unique personality, this is the style for you.

Modern Mid-Century products are simply well-design objects with a timeless look, relying on colour to give it the interesting factor. It is an incredibly versatile style, allowing a total personalisation and customisation of your home.

MID-CENTURY
NIKU Floor Light, KOI Console, KAAMOS Mirror and SIMBA Rug by Rug’Society
Modern Mid-Century has clean lines, curved and smooth surfaces to create an minimised look - less becomes more. The heavy ornamented items of other styles are replaced with slimmed down furniture in open spaces. Neutral coloured walls allow the furnitures’ shapes and colour to top and take over the room - texture is also very important. The shag rug, rough stone fireplace, smooth glass table, sleek ceramic light, and furniture fabric all work together. Patterns emerge in the abstract painting, pillows, and pottery. The wood and glass of the coffee table suggest the lines and shape of a modernist sculpture. Using a few key items of furniture will really define your space and create a focal point for your room. Once you have that key product, the rest of the room will fall into place around it.

Modern Classic style draws inspiration from the Classic design, such as Victorian style, Art Deco or even Greek and the Roman style. Modern classic furniture usually has a minimalist, but still refined design with the focus on quality and even premium materials.

Modern Classic homes have its classic architectural details highlighted by the accent furniture with modern lines and the classic colour palette, such as grey. Neutral walls create the perfect background for art pieces, having statement walls - one wall painted in a different shade than the rest of the room - also brings in an interesting modern edge. Add a bold flash of colour with modern furniture items, rugs or curtains. Adding a bold light fixture to a room can create an attractive and still functional focal product. An harmonisation of Modern and Classic design should mix minimalism with a splash of colour.
