2018 | 2019 ANNUAL REPORT 7.1.18 – 6.30.19

Pause,

Play!

Dear Friends of DCM, Thank you for taking the time to Pause from your busy day to review the Play highlights of my last year at DuPage Children’s Museum. In the increasingly busy schedules of today’s society, it’s so important to Pause for Play. It’s through play that children are able to investigate and discover the world around them while connecting with others and building important skills that will last a lifetime. I have loved playing with you and the tremendous team we have at the Museum. Together we have secured the fiscal health of the institution. Our Play Soirée, the annual Benefit Ball, raised a record-breaking $656,000; a half-million dollar grant was secured to develop new, innovative exhibits; and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit introduced a new audience to the Museum while bringing important social emotional learning to the forefront. The foundation has been laid for a visionary future in our Naperville location. We will continue to deliver exceptional exhibit experiences and programs. We will also continue to deliver hands-on science exploration to school children through our Learning Labs and to underserved families through our Community Access Network. Through dynamic partnerships with funders and social service agencies, DCM works intentionally across the region to ensure that the Museum’s rich learning environment is accessible to all children and families. We at DCM know that children thrive when they have access to highquality play and learning. We thank you for your support of our mission, vision, and values to inspire curiosity, promote creativity, and build community. Our most recent fiscal year is a celebration of our incredible team who bring learning through play to life here at DCM every day. Thank you!!
