Message from Board Chairman

Serving as the chairman of DCHFA’s Board of Directors has always been an honor for me, from receiving Mayor Muriel Bowser’s nomination to being elected as chairman by my fellow Board members. This year, my appreciation for the DCHFA’s staff and this opportunity is magnified due to the Agency's performance and resilience. The world had to pivot due to the coronavirus pandemic; however at DCHFA, the staff had to make this abrupt change while in the midst of grieving the loss of former Executive Director & CEO Todd A. Lee. Yet under these adverse circumstances, the Agency is still thriving. The Agency’s success is a win for the residents of the District of Columbia whom we are all here to serve. Through the transition of leadership and working remotely, DCHFA has not only managed to operate all of its programs, it has created new programs. The Agency staff's solutions-driven approach has resulted in the construction and preservation of new affordable rental housing, new homeowners and foreclosure prevention. Thank you to the entire staff for excelling through the challenges.
