8 STORYTELLERS + 8 FILM TEAMS = 2 NIGHTS OF CREATIVE MASTERY DC Shorts (the largest short film event on the East Coast) and SpeakeasyDC (the area’s most-respected storytelling group) have teamed to create a unique film competition in which teams of filmmakers will be paired with local storytellers to create films based on their stories — and win cash prizes up to $1,000! On November 9, eight storytellers tell their tales in front of a live audience. The film teams will hear these stories for the first time and have 5 days to create a film based on the stories.
