À À 1. APPLY

Becoming a student

New students and students with an absence of 12 months or more must submit an Application for Admission (center section of this schedule or online at www.frontrange.edu). For more information, go to www.frontrange.edu/getstarted. Students will be automatically admitted if they are 17 years of age or older; admission to the college does not assure acceptance into any specific program. Current high school students may enroll in college courses; for more information, go to www.frontrange.edu/highschoolprograms. If students are under 17, special procedures are required. For more information, go to www.frontrange.edu/admissions.

RESIDENC Y FOR TU ITION PURPOSES Students are classified as a Colorado “resident” or “nonresident” for tuition purposes based upon the information provided on the Admissions Application. A student’s age determines whose residency information is considered. If a student is under the age of 23, residency is based on the parent’s or legal guardian’s information. Residency information provided by the student/ parent must prove that legal ties and physical presence have been established in Colorado for 12 full months before the first day of the semester. For students who file a Petition for In-State Residency by the priority deadline listed in the Important Dates section, FRCC will provide a residency determination prior to the add/drop deadline for 15 week classes; however, students may need to pay the non-resident rate by the payment deadline in order to secure class registration. Filing a residency petition does not guarantee that students will be granted resident status. The final deadline listed in the Important Dates section to submit a Petition for In-State Residency is 30 days after the start of the semester. Residency determinations for petitions filed after the priority deadline cannot be guaranteed by the add/drop deadline and students may be subject to non-resident tuition. For more information, go to www.frontrange.edu/residency. Students in some western states may enroll in many two-year and four-year public college programs at reduced tuition, which is the total cost of FRCC resident tuition, through the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) agreement. WUE students are not eligible for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) tuition credit. Please contact the Admissions and Records Office for a current list of WUE participating states. For more information, go to www.frontrange.edu/admissions.

LAWFUL U.S. PRESENCE (H B 1023) VERI FICATION HB 06S-1023 requires Colorado institutions of higher education verify the lawful U.S. presence of all applicants for public postsecondary education benefits. Applicants who fail to meet verification requirements may be subject to non-resident tuition and removal of the College Opportunity Fund (COF) tuition credit and other state funded benefits. For more information, go to highered.colorado.gov/finance/residency.
