LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTORS & OFFICERS
Greetings And Welcome From The Blue Thunder Boosters
Blue Thunder Boosters welcomes everyone to Belvidere North High School and the school year. Since the opening of our school 15 years ago, Belvidere North has quickly built a strong tradition of scholastic and athletic excellence, including seven state championship titles. Our student athletes have represented our school, city, county and state with integrity, sportsmanship and distinction. We are proud. We are NORTH!
The purpose of the Blue Thunder Boosters is to…
1) Support and encourage participation in BLUE THUNDER athletics at Belvidere North High School and Belvidere Central Middle School.
2) Provide financial support for equipment and training aides to BNHS and BCMS coaches to assist in their sports programs and development of student athletes.
3) Expand and perpetuate interest in all school sponsored athletic activities.
4) Encourage the spirit of good sportsmanship and fellowship.
5) Create a positive bond between coaches, administrators, athletes, and parents.
6) Continue positive growth in BLUE THUNDER athletics.

The goals of the Blue Thunder Boosters are…
1) 100% membership of all BNHS and BCMS athlete parents.
2) Provide the very best athletic programs possible.
3) Encourage positive parental involvement.
The primary function of the Boosters is to organize and run a variety of fundraising events/ projects that benefit the athletic programs: the Blue Thunder Open golf outing, Thunderfest, Concessions, 50/50 Raffles, and Thunder Wear merchandise sales. Additionally, in recent years we have participated in First National Challenge events. Over the past 15 years, the Blue Thunder Boosters have contributed over $340,376.00 directly to the athletic programs! These funds are critical in meeting needs that are beyond the funds available through the District 100 budget, but are necessary to provide the very best athletic programs possible.
Blue Thunder Boosters pledged $150,000 to be combined with the generous gifts from Milt & Mary Jo Brown and the Turner Family for construction of the Bob Turner Concession Stand and restroom facilities at the north end of the Milt Brown Stadium. Funds raised from Thunderfest events were earmarked for this project. In the fall of 2017, we presented a check for $15,500 to District 100 as our eighth and FINAL installment and fulfilled our obligation. Thank you all for your support!
We continue, with the support of parents and our community, our commitment to make the athletic experience memorable for our student athletes, coaches, parents and fans. We are grateful to all of our supporters and volunteers. We invite and encourage everyone to become a member of this great organization!
THANK YOU! Go Blue Thunder!
