DEAR FAMILY & FRIENDS OF
BELVIDERE HIGH SCHOOL
It is my privilege to serve as your Principal and to welcome you to the 2021 Fall Sports season! As with our school and community at-large, our BHS athletics program has been facedwith unique and unprecedented challenges during this COVID pandemic. A part of ourlives and the Belvidere High School experience that we could always count on and worktowards has been completely disrupted. Our spring athletes from the Class of 2020 hadthe final chapter of their athletic careers taken from them without warning. For many ofthem, it was their last opportunity to compete at such a level. Our 20-21 athletes facednew challenges and competition parameters within condensed seasons. Despite our current reality, there is reason for hope. We are returning to the IHSAcompetition calendar to which we’ve been accustomed. Our coaches, athletes, andfamilies are committed to athletic excellence at Belvidere High School. Together, we areraising our expectations and our accomplishments. I continue to be inspired by our coaches and athletes for their hard work and dedication.I am grateful for the leadership from Mr. Sternquist and Ms. Vanco in our athletic office. Ithank our families and community for their understanding of the regulations that we donot choose but are required to implement. Belvidere High School is a special place because our culture, more and more, isintolerant of excuses and blame and hungry for action and growth. Thank you to ourentire BHS community for your support of Belvidere High School Athletics, and GoBucs! Billy Lewis Principal Belvidere High School
