Daytona State's 2019 three-day Homecoming extravaganza kicked off Thursday, October 10 with Daytona State College’s School of Photography Alumni Reunion in Photography Hall and the Mr. & Ms. DSC Pageant in the L. Gale Lemerand Student Center.

Friday’s activities began with the Alumni Awards in the Conference Center. And, in the Hosseini Center’s Madorsky Theater, LaTonya Polk, Manager, DSC Career Services, presented a LinkedIn 101 workshop that was informative and helpful to students and alumni alike.

Friday also featured the Falcon Challenge Ping-Pong Tournament in the Gaming Lounge located in the Lemerand Student Center, and concluded with Movie & S’mores with an outdoor movie presentation, free pizza and fire pits.

Ultimately, JJ Finn was crowned Mr. DSC 2019 and Jasmine Robinson was crowned Ms. DSC 2019. JJ is in his freshman year working toward an AA degree and also is a right-handed pitcher for the DSC Falcons baseball team.
A member of the DSC Concert Choir, Jasmine is a junior planning on a career in education.

Homecoming 2019 culminates with full day of activities

Homecoming 2019 culminated with a full-day of activities on Saturday, October 12 beginning with the 4th Annual 5K Family Fun Walk/Run benefiting student scholarships followed by the Car & Truck Show. The President’s Choice went to Renee Hanson, DSC Alum ‘00, and her 1964 Plymouth, Barracuda. New this year, was the Arts & Crafts Fair held in conjunction with the Car & Truck show.

Eighteen guests learned techniques from Chef Costa at the Culinary Boot Camp in the kitchen labs of the Hosseini Center. Alumni softball and baseball players took to the fields, and the Tailgate Party & Cookout near the DSC Soccer Stadium featured free barbecue, a bounce house, rock climbing wall, corn hole tournament and other family-fun activities.

Graduates from the Paralegal Studies program participated in a reunion and the DSC School of Emergency Services hosted a Pumper Pull as teams competed to pull a fire truck in the fastest time.
