xpectant moms can relax, center and stretch during the new Prenatal Yoga Class at The Hot Yoga House. Throughout the class, Instructor Julia Rix guides moms in a manner specifically designed for the journey of pregnancy. Open to those in all stages of pregnancy, Rix says prenatal yoga helps strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improves circulation, aids in digestion, exercises the spine and increases overall comfort. You can sign up for an eight-week series that takes place every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. for $80, or $14 a pop for drop-ins. Rix also offers prenatal massages in the studio’s Meditation Room for $60 per hour by appointment. The Hot Yoga House is located at 826 Wren Road, Goodlettsville. Girls can join as either players or referees, and boys of the same age can train to be members of the officiating crew. Practices take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 - 7:45 p.m. at the Cleveland Community Center in East Nashville. Learn more at nashvillejrd.com.

This research-based articulation intervention study includes three evaluations (one to see if your child is a good match, a second prior to treatment and a final one posttreatment) and one-hour therapy sessions twice a week for six months at your child’s school. There is no cost to participate, and families who complete the study will receive $50.
