WELCOME TO THE DAVIS FAMILY! Practice Expectations

School Cheerleading

Mandatory Practices Practices at Davis are MANDATORY starting JUNE. Most families in our program make sacrifices to NEVER miss a practice and we are looking for athletes who can match that same energy. Missing practices will slow down the progression of our teams and we expect all athletes to attend every practice. Absences should be reserved for emergencies only. Punctuality Practices will start ON TIME at Davis and we expect athletes to be ready to go PRIOR to the start of practice. Every minute your athlete is late is a minute taken away from TEAM training.

We are proud of the working relationship we have developed throughout the years with school coaches. Communication will be the key to success if your athlete will be enjoying the experience of both allstar and school cheerleading this season.

Practice Wear Athletes are required to wear assigned practice clothes to every mandatory practice starting August. Extra practice wear will be given out and charged to your account if your athlete is in the wrong attire. Competitive Practice Environment

Competitive cheerleading is a high pressure sport on competition days. At Davis we like to cultivate that atmosphere within our practices as well. Your athlete will have alternates and other team members switching in and out of positions all season long to ensure that we put the most competitive teams on the mat. It is important that your family and athlete have the mindset that our coaches want our athletes to be the best version of themselves and we believe in our athletes most times more than they do. Our expectations are high for every athlete and we will hold them accountable every practice and competition to that standard. We ask that you ensure your family can follow through with our practice expectations BEFORE committing to a team at Davis. We have many other programs that we offer if this is not a commitment your family can fully make.

There will be numerous volunteer opportunities to get involved and make life long bonds and friendships. We also like to partner with you to help navigate through emotions and feelings your athlete may have this season. Competitive cheerleading is a challenging but very rewarding sport that comes with many life lessons our athletes can use for years to come. Our expectation is that quitting should never be an option midseason if you commit to a team sport. There is always a solution that can get your athlete back on track if they are feeling defeated or have a lack of desire to return to practice. Pay close attention to these feelings once practices start getting hard in October/November. With open communication lines we can keep your athlete happy and feeling loved, seen and heard in this competitive atmosphere!

New Score Sheet/Team Placements Due to the MAJOR scoring changes this season,our team selections and placements will be altered to fit that criteria. Our goal is to be competitive at every level and with every team in our program.We are looking for WELL ROUNDED athletes at each level who can demonstrate PERFECT technique in tumbling, jumps and stunting abilities. New tumbling passes that showcase more creativity and difficulty will be introduced at every level so even if you think your athlete has "maxed out" a level, we can assure you there is more to learn based on the new scoring requirements! Our goal this season is for each athlete to compete CONFIDENTLY on the competition stage. We do not plan to level up many of our current athletes and teams. We will be using a mentality of maxing out our teams to compete at the high caliber of competitions we have chosen. Here is an example for reference: A solid level 2 athlete that we are looking for to build our level 2 teams should have near perfect tumbling technique, be able to execute multiple level 2 tumble passes (including new, creative ones}, be mentally tough and ready to be coached hard, be able to contribute to all stunting elements in whatever position we see fit and have jumps that are working towards "level" height. We fully expect our advanced level 2 teams to have athletes on the team who have started working or already have tucks. This means they are confident in their level 2 skills and ready to compete them against the best level 2 athletes in the nation. We will be reserving up to one stunt group of non tumblers per team. This means that non tumbling positions will be much harder to secure this season. Athletes who do not have tumbling skills that match their stunting skills should expect to be placed on the level where they can fully contribute in all categories.


ELITE / USASF MOST OF OUR ATHLETES participate in Traveling Teams which travel to out-of-state events and compete 7 times during the 2024-2025 season. Travel includes NCA , Worlds or Summit. TUITION Tuition of $150 per month per athlete is paid monthly for ALL TEAMS Level 1 - 5. Tuition includes 2 practices per week plus an hour of tumbling built into summer practices. Specialty classes are available for an additional $50 fee, after summer. Additional practices are added to the schedule in October. This does not increase Tuition.

PREP/ NOVICE / USASF NEW OPTION :Non-Traveling Teams By popular demand, this 2ND OPTION is available for families that prefer NOT to travel out- of-state for competitions and for athletes who need an introduction year for all-stars This option is perfect for the entry-level athlete and for families that would like to join DAVIS but are not able to commit to cheer-related travel at this time. We practice one day per week.

DISCOUNTS & SAVINGS •Each sibling will receive 10% off tuition each month. •Pay your annual tuition fees up front and save 5%off your total! OTHER EXPENSES •SEE PRICE SHEET TRAVEL EXPENSES All travel expenses for in-state and out-of-state competitions are the responsibility of each family. RETURNING FAMILY INCENTIVE A $50 referral fee will be credited to your account for EACH athlete you bring to DAVIS who participates for the season. Credit will be applied to your December statement.

WHEN DO WE FIND OUT OUR PRACTICE SCHEDULE AND TEAM? You will receive a "Welcome" email with your practice schedule, team tumbling schedule and other important reminders. The season starts June 15th. WHERE CAN I FIND AN "ABSENCE REQUEST FORM"? On our website, under "SEASON 14." WHAT IS A TEAM REP? A Team Rep is a parent who is the liaison between the coach and the parents. There is one Team Rep per team. The Team Rep is in charge of setting up a meeting location at competitions, handing out wristbands, and assisting with team functions and communication. Team Reps are not involved in gym decisions, coaching or accounting issues.

Clothing Sizes Our Athlete's wear professional, consistent clothing and uniforms to practices and competitions. Please use the chart below and circle the size of each clothing item you will need. Please note the blue sizes are youth sizes. Red sizes are adult sizes.

ABSENCES Attendance is crucial to team success. An "absent request" form must be filled out prior to the missed practice. One unexcused Absences = $25 fine. No practice can be missed two weeks priorto any compe- tition.

VACATIONS Vacations are not permitted during competition season, unless the gym is closed and the athlete has already cleared it with their coaches.Please see your coaches with any vacations at any time. Also, any summer vacations must be in writing 2 weeks prior to the missed practice(s).

INJURIES If an injury should occur, it is the responsibility of the parent to seek professional help. Each athlete must have his/her own medical insurance. After seeing a physician, please provide Davis All Stars with an evaluation of the athlete's injury/ status. A release from a doctor is required if a serious injury should occur. COPYRIGHT NOTICE You cannot sell or create your own DAVIS clothing.This includes team names and any likeness to logo, affiliation and/or program. Parents/Athletes/Staff wishing to enter a contest,while wearing the DAVIS uniform, or representing The DAVIS All Stars inany media, must first receive permission from the Owner.

TRAVEL / COMPETITIONS During the competition season, cheerleaders will be asked to travel. Some athletes will travel to national events out of the state. In this case, a separate rule sheet is handed out closer to the time of competition. is the responsibility of each team member and his/her family. All Team members will wear the DAVIS All-Star clothing to each function. Uniforms articles should be packed neatly into your team bag. All team members will stay together with the coaches and follow

Travel Regulations. *BOYFRIENDS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND COMPETITIONS* UNIFORMS & ATTIRE Please keep all All-Star Clothing, Warm-Ups and Uniform in goodcondition. Please report any lost damaged uniform items to your coach.The cost of replacement will be the responsibility of the cheerleader. Please wear ASSIGNED gear to practice. (No jeans or jean shorts ... ) NO jewelry to practice. DAVIS ALLSTARS assumes NO responsibility of lost jewelry or any valuables. *NO SHORTS ALLOWED

TEAM PLACEMENT All athletes are placed on a team at the discretion of the coaches. Age experience & ability all factor into placement. Please understand that athletes may be repositioned, moved or replaced at any time at the discretion of the coaches. Any changes are made to benefit the team as a whole. PRACTICES Parents are not allowed to come onto the floor for any reason. You may enter 10 minutes prior to practice ending. DISCIPLINE If any of the above rules are compromised, the following actions will occur: •1st Violation: athlete will be sent home •2nd Violation: The athlete may be removed from the team or entire program.


COMMUNICATION As a parent, you will receive information in several ways, such as, monthly newsletters and emails from your coach or Team Rep. Check www.davisallstargym.com for new updates as well. FEES •A schedule of payments is listed in this handbook. All monthly fees are due the 28th of the month. Please make all payments in the payment box located in the parent viewing area. You will receive a monthly statement of your account with all payments listed. (We will invoice you on the 27th of each month.) Please keep all copies in the event of a question or a discrepancy. Please make all checks payable to Davis Allstars. •A late fee of $40 will be assessed for all payments made after the 5th. All other fees are due on EXACT due date. You may pay by cash, check, credit card or money order. Parents and responsible adults will be asked to sign a financial contract. Each person signing the contract will be responsible for keeping his/her child's account current. Please make all checks payable to Davis, Inc. •Monthly Tuition cannot be pro-rated for any reason. •Tuition, Choreography, Camp and Nationals fees are non-refundable. •By the 5th of each month, your account must be up to date. Otherwise, athlete will be moved to an alternate position. FUNDRAISING Occasionally, there are opportunities to participate in fundraisers that require youreffort outside of cheer. Profits resulting from your help will be directly posted to your account. Any surplus of funds raised can be used as gym credit. PRACTICES •There is no viewing area. Parents/friends are asked to stay out of training area. We want your child to get the most out of every practice. In order for this to happen, we need their full attention. If there are distractions, the whole team is affected and may also become a safety issue. •If a parent or anyone is observed speaking negatively about a team, coach, parent, or cheerleader, he/she will be talked to and/or asked to leave. If this kind of behavior continues to be an issue, the child will have to be removed from the team. We will not tolerate this type of conduct. If a parent verbally assaults or threatens a student, coach or parent, the family will be dismissed from the program. TRANSPORTATION All transportation/accommodations to local competitions are the solely the responsibility of each family. We will make every effort to provide information in a timely manner. However, if a competition is cancelled or rescheduled, Davis All-Stars will not be responsible for reimbursement for any reason. PARENTAL SUPPORT •Your dedication and support is just as important to us as it is to your child! •We encourage all parents to sit together and support all Davis teams. Parents are also encouraged to show support by wearing Davis All-Star clothing to competitions. •Showing respect for the coaching staff, other teams and hosting organizations is expected, as you are there representing Davis All-Stars and your child. DAVIS ALL-STARS ACCOUNTS We use social media like facebook, twitter, instagram and others to share our sport with the world. Some of our communications are internal, for team planning and positive words of encouragements, etc. Some of our posts are promotional in nature, designed for the public. ATHLETE ACCOUNTS Many of our athletes - with their parents' permission -maintain their own social media pages. We appreciate that they stay in touch with one other, share ideas, and encourage each other. At the same time, we strongly discourage any form of bullying, putting down, criticizing, foul language, or sharing inappropriateimages. Not only is this dangerous, but it can result in removal from your team. PARENT ACCOUNTS It's fun to use social media responsibly. We can be better role models by limiting the time on our phones, paying attention to the real people around us, and by posting respectful content. In that same regard, our athletes parents are prohibited from making disparaging comments about cheer coaches, cheer athletes, cheer programs, event producers, or the results of an event. Posts related to the gym (and cheer in general) need to be above-board. SAFETY AND PEACE OF MIND Experts tell us that there are real down-sides to the overuse of social media and other online resources. Youth, teens and adults can experience anxiety, envy, depression, isolation, and even thoughts of self-harm and suicide. We recommend that families create their own pledge for internet use. We encourage parents to have direct access to their childrens' email, social media and website history, and to review this content regularly. And we encourage families and friends to spend time together "offline," to talk face-to-face with each other,listen with intent, play together and develop loving, meaningful relationships. That's something we can all LIKE and SHARE!
