My story

I discovered another dimension of reality on a day in 2018. On an overwhelming lonely night, alone in my apartment in Brooklyn, I broke down and cried. As I closed my eyes and meditated in the darkness, a spontaneous vision of another dimension emerged through me, like a 3-D hologram projection of a quantum reality. I saw the world through a unified field in my meditative state. Streams of light radiated out from me in all directions, connecting me to every living being on earth, like an infinite web spanning to the edge of the world. I realized I was never alone. No one has ever been alone. I was with everything and everyone that existed; through loneliness, I found oneness. As I surrendered to this immersive infinite light, the profoundness of this vision stopped my tears. The wholeness filled me up with internal peace, unconditionally. I felt I had awoken to a reality that I once knew. In the following weeks, I perceived a message from the universe telling me to sculpt energy with my ability. It did not come through as words, but more like telepathic communication. I can't say I completely comprehended the abstract concept at that time, but the profound experience radically changed my view of life. This event continues to inspire me to look deeper inward, and follow its guidance in my creative exploration. I make art to document the magical and mystical world I experience. 3

Artist statement

I create fiber sculptures and participatory projects to examine vibrational energy, inner state harmony, and supernatural awareness. I use my spiritual insights to form the basis of my practice, and to question how energy transforms and manifests to our sensory experiences. My recent work began as a way to embrace the debilitating energy sensitivity I felt during physical and environmental encounters. My naked awareness leads me to see the world through a different lens. I see supposedly invisible vibrating particles flow in the air; and I perceive people and their emotional patterns as color and energy movements. I untangle these experiences into projects such as color oracle cards, energy reading participatory events, and talismanic fiber sculptures to inspire new awareness, and to enhance our spiritual connection and emotional wellbeing.

Supernatural

"Supernatural" is a hybrid project examining the concepts of energy, holism, mysticism, and materiality. My interest in unfolding these ideas stems from my path of spiritual awakening and inspired me to experiment with occult magics, talismans, and divination tools as the frameworks to cultivate emotional well-being and deepen our spiritual connection. "Supernatural" communicates the interconnectedness of the universe, and it serves as a reminder that we are energetic beings living in a vibrational universe to invite viewers to consider themselves as part of the physical world, but also to think deeply about our energetic capacities beyond the flesh. This project is realized through three interwoven series: Energy Sculpture, Portal, and Color Gnosis. These works manifest in various forms, such as fiber sculpture, interactive installation, and participatory social events, to envision a community space for connection, recharge, and inner harmony.

Energy Sculpture (2021-2023) is a series of talismanic soft sculptures that use merino wool to integrate holistic energy. I incorporate occult magic practices and my inner guidance to create felted and tufted works, I then invoke metaphysical connection to activate the work vibrationally. Each piece represents a different state of awareness. I combine them with various nature elements to create energy offerings for blessing and healing. The symbolic and abstract forms of each work are created through the process of automatic drawing, which allows my subconscious to draw out the vibrational blueprint of a blessing intent. I then choose the sketch that best conveys a particular intention to create a sigil graph. A "sigil" is a pictorial signature, a type of spell that invokes the magical power to charge the visualized work. Once a sigil graph is created, I begin the wet felting process by layering light and loose fibers of specific colors, overlapping them to build up volume. I use needle felting to sculpt, shape, and refine. In some works, I use tufting in a portion of the composition to create different textures. I go through many rounds of this physically taxing process, using each pass as an opportunity to shape the potential energies by affirming my intentions. I treat each color and form as potential energies waiting to be expressed. I convey each shape as a line of energy in movement, using colors as emotional amplifiers of the energy and the embodiment of light. After the fiber work is complete, each piece is finalized with a blessingcharged ritual.

Color Gnosis

Color Gnosis (2022-2023) is an ongoing spontaneous event that takes place in private studios and public spaces, where I offer vibrational color oracle readings to guide the participants through an experience of self-discovery. During these events, I act as the interpreter, channeling color to offer empathic guidance. I conduct these readings using a deck of vibrational awareness color oracle cards, which I designed. The cards feature a system of 14 energetic colors as the visual language, categorized into four elements, creating a set of 56 cards. I synthesized this deck through a range of intuitive insights and perceived guidance to understand the encoded language of vibrational energy in color, emotion, and the human psyche. The deck is contextualized around the concepts of archetypal human needs, emotional attributes, and personality traits, and communicates the interconnection between color frequency and the inner landscape. Using these cards in conjunction with a customized exploration card game, people can play and pick a spread to reveal messages that interpret one ' s current state of vibrational alignment and potential. This card game is designed to inform, inspire self-awareness, and occasionally entertain the participants.

Portal

Portal (2022-2023) is an interactive installation where viewers are prompted to use the divination tool to seek guidance. This interactive installation is set up to be a divination altar, The altar consists of a divination tool that is a pair of crescent-shaped drops, a stand, a platform and a video. The concept of divination drops I created is based on a commonly-used divination tool called Moon blocks in Taoist temples to give viewers an ritualistic experience. To activate the divination drops, one must ask a question with a clear intent while holding the drops between palms in prayer position. Then, throw the drops to get divine guidance. The position in which the pair of drops land presents a yes or no answer: opposite-facing drops grant the answer “ yes. ” The drops can be used to gain self-knowledge, or used in conjunction with the oracle cards to provide clarification and nuance. Through the repetition and active questioning, it becomes an opportunity for the viewers to gain new perspectives into their own thoughts and desires.
