Camps open June 3rd. Have you made plans yet?

At summer camp, Adventure Awaits.

It's time to reserve at least one week this summer for your Scout! Your child will return from camp with greater independence and a stronger sense of identity, but they will also have developed new skills, made new friends, and created memories they will cherish forever. To a Scout, summer camp is a state-of-mind!

On May 2nd, at 5:30 PM local time, all around the world, Scouts will read the entire sacred texts of these world religionsProtestant, Catholic, Jewish, and Muslim faiths. In addition, Scouts in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Christian, Eastern Orthodox, Hindu, Sikh, and other Faiths will be also reading their Sacred Texts. Scouts can participate in one of three ways.

*Read Sacred Texts at home with their family.

*Read Sacred Texts at their faith location.

Youth Protection Mission Statement

True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. It is the mission of Youth Protection volunteers and professionals to work within the Boy Scouts of America to maintain a culture of Youth Protection awareness and safety at the national, territory, area, council, district, and unit levels.

The Guide to Safe Scouting Activities

MANDATORY Youth Protection Training

The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. To maintain such an environment, the BSA developed numerous procedural and leadership selection policies and provides parents and leaders with resources for the Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, and Venturing programs.

• Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers and is a joining requirement.

• Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be re-registered. Read and know more:

An overview of Scouting policies and procedures gleaned from a variety of sources. Registered unit leaders are expected to review the additional reference material cited prior to conducting such activities. In situations not specifically covered in this guide, activity planners should evaluate the risk or potential risk of harm, and respond with action plans based on common sense, community standards, the Scout motto, and safety policies and practices commonly prescribed for the activity by experienced providers and practitioners.
