CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS THURSDAY Dayton Dragons baseball game is FREE with Full Conference Registration. A limited number of tickets are available for friends and family for only $11 each at the registration table. Meet in the lobby at 6:30 pm for short 4 block walk to stadium. Or travel on your own any time.

FRIDAY Enjoy a free continental breakfast courtesy of DATV and get some time to visit with our conference vendors. They will have plenty of things to help make your access center the best it can be.

SATURDAY The Central States door prizes will be given away at 9:00 am in Salon C during breakfast. You must be present to win. Be sure to stop by to win some great prizes.

An inside look at regional production trucks. Get a tour of each vehicle and ask questions to the people who created them and see how they are used in remote productions. Climbing Beyond The Clouds

Starting a big project is like looking at a hill with some clouds near the top. “That looks like a fun climb. I can do that.” Things start off great, but what happens when you break through the clouds and suddenly discover that your “hill” is actually a mountain? In this seminar, violin maker Joe Kaufeld recounts how this simple decision to learn how to play the violin turned into an epic quest to build the world’s first acrylic acoustic violin. He shares what he learned about staying focused and productive when a hill-sized project becomes a mountain of adventure. Moderator: Elizabeth Lord (Access Ft. Want to get started archiving your station’s digital video? You don’t have to be a technology geek or engineer to do it. Learn what you need to know to contribute digital video files to the Community Media Archive and discover some “best practices” for managing data about your videos once your collection is established. You’ll emerge from this session with an “I can do that!” attitude towards archiving your community’s cultural history.
