Problem Hard copy blueprints are a must at any construction site. That is why Re-Steel, makers of the steel bars used to reinforce concrete known as rebar, found it necessary to have a more space efficient and easier to use storage system for their archived rolled blueprints. Datum had their answer.
Solution Re-Steel’s previous system consisted of laminated cubby holes stacked on top of each other, which didn’t hold nearly the capacity that they needed. To solve this issue, Datum recommended two MobileTrak5® Systems, equipped with 4Post™ Shelving.
Datum utilizes design programs to create 3D color renderings for customers to see exactly what their unique storage system will look like in their facility.
The 4Post™ was customized to create eight cubes for each of the four sections of the MobileTrak5®. Each cube could hold a large number of rolled plans, and these cubes could be labeled by month and year to help organize their archival system. Each section of the MobileTrak5® was fitted with sectional back panels to keep the rolled plans from being pushed out of the back of the unit. This new system tripled their former capacity and allowed for a neater, more organized archiving system.
