FUNDING
OUTSIDE THE LINES
While Dartmouth’s financial aid covers 100% of the demonstrated need of all its students, the opportunity for funding doesn’t stop there. Dartmouth students have access to resources that make all kinds of experiences possible and ensure that every student can take advantage of the diverse opportunities Dartmouth has to offer. We asked current students to share experiences made possible with Dartmouth’s financial support.
“This past fall, I received funding through the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy (lovingly called “Rocky”) to intern with the White House Council of Economic Advisers. I had the chance to participate in economic research that goes directly to the president to help inform policy decisions. The grant helped cover the cost of rent, transportation, and food for the duration of my internship. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!” —Cindy Shen ’21
When the Dartmouth Outing Club (DOC) invited students to join a rock climbing class in the mountains, I signed up immediately. The trip, food, and gear were all free, and our group leaders taught us how to tie figure-eight knots, belay, and use command terms. After our climb was over and the sun set, we left the mountains for dinner at Dartmouth’s Moosilauke Ravine Lodge. Dinner at the Lodge is something special — there’s nothing better than homemade cornbread, soup, and lasagna after a long day outdoors. — Robin Martinez ’23
