In this month’s article we look at a new models as the automotive industry gears up for 2022.

2022 Ford Focus family car – this is a larger family version of the ford focus diversifying the range. The new version will have a more muscular look with a high bonnet line and a more imposing front grille. LED headlights now come as standard on every Focus, and include integrated fog lights, allowing the light clusters to be slimmer than before. Amongst the engines available are the 1.0-litre mild hybrid petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. There is also a Focus ST hot hatch with a 2.3-litre petrol engine. Inside you’ll find a new 13.2in touchscreen running Ford’s Sync 4 software with clear graphics, a logical menu structure and offering wireless connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Prices will start from £22,465 when available in early 2022. 2022 MG ZS EV electric SUV – this is MGs electric SUVs to rival a busy market. The updated ZS EV receives two new battery options – the 72kWh long range battery and the 51kWh with travel ranges from 198 to 273 miles on a full charge. Changes to the outside includes LED headlights have been added, which will improve visibility in dark conditions compared with conventional bulbs and a new rear bumper and new aerodynamic five-spoke wheels. Inside you’ll find a 10.1in touchscreen in place of the previous 8.0in unit. Prices are yet to be anoouced but expected to start around £26,500 and qualify for the £2,500 Government electric grant. It will be on sale from November 2021.

2022 Dacia Duster Commercial – this will be one of the cheapest of its kind in the country when it goes on sale. The new Duster Commercial adopts a similar look to the Duster family SUV, with Y-shaped LED running lights, an imposing front grille and 16in alloy wheels. Modifications tot eh SUV to turn it into a commercial includes a flat, wooden load floor in place of the rear seats, leaving you with a payload weight capacity of 503kg. Inside, the Duster Commercial comes with an 8.0in touchscreen display for telephone, radio and sat-nav. It also has a built-in alarm system as well as six speakers for your music. Other standard kit includes air conditioning, electric front windows, cruise control, a trip computer, DAB radio with bluetooth connectivity and a USB connection. Lots of other options available with the trims. Petrol and diesel engines will be available from a 1.0-litre and 1.3-litres petrol’s to a 1.5-litre diesel option. Prices will start from £13,995 including VAT when it’s on sale in mid-2022 making it one of the cheapest.
