Generally we’d all like more time to spend with our family and friends, or pursuing our own interests, but for most of us, it isn’t possible given our current financial circumstances. So, we vow to work harder, believing the next raise or bonus will provide us with more money, and a ‘better’ life.

But now, we have even less time, the resource we wanted most!

When our ambitious financial desires clash with our time poor woes, ‘passive income’ is often touted as the panacea, “experience an abundance of money, for very little work!” so the rhetoric goes.

Specifically, property investment is often cited as the ‘easiest and fastest’ way of achieving our middle class aspirations, something that can be done ‘on the side’ while holding down our full time jobs, children (if you have them) and other responsibilities.

After 17 years in the property business, I’ve learned that the ‘passivity’ of property investment is only applicable within specific parameters. For example, if you purchased a new build apartment, rented it out on a long-term, your already limited time?

You solicit the help of an expert. It took me 17 years to develop the methodology I now use and it’s the sole means by which I generate income and grow my clients’ wealth.

Definitely not an endeavour for the time poor! ‘Going it alone’ is absolutely possible but you’ll eat into your most valuable resource (time) and likely make some costly mistakes along the way (been there, done that!). Besides, how many of us would forgo a trip to the dentist in favour of watching YouTube tutorials if we needed a hole in our tooth fixing?
