While visiting Versailles, you can begin your morning with a hot breakfast at Brown’s Sweet Shop. As soon as you walk in the door, the aroma of eggs, bacon, hot coffee, and fresh bakery will fill your nose. Brown’s Sweet Shop is known for their delicious donuts and are a treat to anyone who is lucky to have one for themselves. After breakfast and while the morning sun is still rising, hit a round of golf at Stillwater Valley Golf Club. This specific golf course is full of hills, trees and beautiful scenery. If you do get caught under the hot afternoon sun, there is the opportunity for refreshments in the clubhouse along with golfing merchandise. When lunch rolls around, the hot spots to hit in Versailles are Sideliners or Best Bite Grill. Sideliners is a sports bar that serves anything from salads, nachos, sandwiches or wings, and Best Bite serves the “feel good” foods that will keep your stomach full all day. Sideliners is especially known for its famous Sideliner, a huge tenderloin the size of a flying saucer. Best Bite is relatively new to Versailles and is the only location in the state. They cook warm soups, hearty steaks and burgers, and have a fresh salad bar for you to fill your plate. If the weather is nice, order your meal to go and have a picnic in Heritage park. Heritage Park is surrounded by trees with plenty of shade; you can relax near the pond, under one of the multiple gazebos, or on top of the hill.

After you’re finished relaxing, head over to the Versailles Area Museum to escape the heat with air conditioning. If you’re lucky, the museum will be having a free ice cream social to enjoy while you view the historical facts about Versailles and the memorabilia hanging in the exhibits. Among the memorabilia hangs photographs of the town before the fire, and old Varsity jackets and sports items. As the day continues, head over to BMI Karts on Main Street. BMI Karts has an indoor go kart track for the whole family to enjoy. There are kart products and tires for sale, and buyers can look at multiple karts and bikes. Along with racing merchandise, multiple concerts are held on Saturday nights. To wrap up your day, spend the evening at The Inn at Versailles. The fine cuisine at Michael Anthony’s at the Inn provides a great place to sit back and have a glass of wine while you fill your stomach. The beauty of this restaurant is that if you’re too full to commute back home, you can always check into a room upstairs. However, no matter how you spend your time in Versailles, Ohio, it is certain that you’ll never want to leave.
