Danny Popescu

Danny Popescu is the founder and CEO of Harbourfront Wealth Management, an investment dealership that brings pension-type investment vehicles, such as private equity, private real estate, and private debt, to Canadian retail investors. He oversees the Vancouver-based firm and its subsidiaries, which include an asset management firm and U.S. investment division. Danny founded Harbourfront in 2013 with a personal investment of $11 million. Last year, the firm completed a unique business transaction with a leading U.S.-based private equity group, Audax private equity, which resulted in a nine-figure investment. This transaction was recognized by ACG British Columbia as a finalist in the 2022 Dealmakers of the Year Awards. With roughly 250 employees across 28 branches in Canada, Harbourfront Wealth Management is one of the fastest-growing independent dealers in the country. Today, Harbourfront is valued at $425 million, and is now on track to reach a $1.5 to $2 billion enterprise value by 2027. Over the course of his career, Danny ranked as the number one advisor at Canada’s largest asset management firm. He became a partner at a national investment firm and was named one of Business Vancouver’s Top Forty Under 40. In 2021 he was named one of Canada's top 50 Industry Leaders by Wealth Professional. Danny, his family, and the Harbourfront Wealth Management team established the Harbourfront Gives Foundation for supporting a range of deserving organizations. Over a short period of time, the Harbourfront Gives Foundation has donated over $425,000, supporting 65 charitable organizations in Canada and worldwide. In 2006, in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the British Columbia Children’s Hospital, he climbed Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. He has also raced in the Test of Metal, a 67-kilometre bicycle race along the mountain roads of British Columbia, to help the Canadian Diabetes Association raise funds for diabetes treatment and research.
