CMC foi constituído em 1999 e atualmente é composto por 4 representantes do Poder Público e 11 representantes da sociedade organizada: 07 das diversas áreas culturais (literatura, música, artes plásticas, foto-cine-vídeo, teatro, circo, dança, folclore e escolas de samba), 01 representante da Associação Comercial e Industrial de Ponta Grossa e do Sistema S (SESC, SESI, SEST, SEBRAE etc), 01 representante das associações de moradores, 01 representante do Conselho do Patrimônio Cultural, 01 representante do Conselho de Educação e 01 representante do Conselho de Turismo. A eleição de seus representantes é realizada a cada 2 anos, na Conferência Municipal de Cultura.
Conferência Municipal de Cultura A Conferência é realizada anualmente, no mês de abril e em 2011 terá a sua 12º edição. Promove a escolha dos segmentos culturais que terão representação no Conselho Municipal de Cultura e também elege os seus conselheiros. É aberta à toda comunidade e nesta ocasião são aprovadas as Políticas Municipais de Cultura e as ações prioritárias para cada ano.
Fundo Municipal de Cultura - FMC O Fundo de Cultura criado em 1999, com verbas do orçamento, é administrado pelo Conselho Municipal de Cultura, através de editais, que seguem as diretrizes da Conferência de Cultura, tais como: viabilizar a fruição dos bens culturais pela população; preservar as manifestações culturais em risco; promover a interrelação e a parceria entre os órgãos e entidades que administram a cultura; viabilizar espaço para grupos de artistas; estimular a produção de obras culturais e a atividade econômica ligada à área.

O Fórum foi instituído para intensificar a comunicação da comunidade com o Conselho Municipal de Cultura e é realizado numa periodicidade de quatro meses, onde há a possibilidade de se discutir assuntos de interesse geral e afinar as políticas e ações culturais conforme as necessidades do momento.

he CMC was formed in 1999 and currently consists of four government representatives and 11 civil society representatives, from 7 different cultural areas (literature, music, art, photo-movies-video, theater, circus, dance, folklore and samba schools), 1 Commercial and Industrial Association representative of Ponta Grossa and System S (SESC, SESI, SEST, SEBRAE etc), 1 resident representative, 1 Cultural Heritage Council representative, 1 Education Council representative and 1 Tourism Council representative. Their representatives’ elections are held every two years in the District Cultural Conference.
Municipal Cultural Conference A Conferência é realizada anualmente, no mês de abril e em 201The Conference is held annually in April and in 2011 it will be on its 12th edition. It promotes the selection of cultural segments that will be represented in the District Cultural Council and it also elects its board members. It is open to the whole community and on this occasion Cultural District Policies are approved as well as the priority actions for each year.
Municipal Fund for Culture - FMC The Cultural Fund created in 1999 with funds from the budget, is administered by the Municipal Council for Culture, through public notices to tender, which follow the Conference of Culture’s guidelines, such as: make the enjoyment of cultural assets by the population feasible, preserve the cultural demonstrations at risk, promote the interrelation and partnership between agencies and entities that manage culture, make space for groups of artists feasible, stimulate the production of cultural works and economic activity linked to the area.
Permanent Forum of Culture The Forum was established to enhance communication between the community and the Municipal Council of Culture and it is held in four months intervals, where there is an opportunity to discuss matters of general interest and refine the policies and cultural attitudes according to the current needs.
