T

he Women in Leadership & Philanthropy (WLP) program at USF is focused on engaging and educating its members in support of women and women’s initiatives throughout the USF System and in our communities. WLP was formed in 2005 with the leadership of USF System President Judy Genshaft and Tampa Bay’s leading philanthropists, business professionals and entrepreneurs to support a common purpose: to promote the educational and research endeavors of women within the university system. Members of WLP have opportunities to create bonds with students, faculty and each other and, in the process, help develop the next generation of women leaders. We invite you to join other WLP members who are leaders and philanthropists in their own right and who are committed to enhancing opportunities for women throughout the USF System. Your particular passion and experience are sure to improve our ability to fulfill our mission and to contribute to our local, national and global communities. Together, we can strengthen opportunities for women and in doing so, make Tampa Bay a better place to live and work.

Membership in the USF System’s WLP program will allow you… To Learn: Members are provided platforms to learn from leaders and each other. These opportunities include an annual luncheon, held each fall, featuring a remarkable woman who is a leader in her field. In addition to the luncheon, smaller workshops and group meetings based on areas of interest allow interaction with top USF faculty, students and fellow WLP members. These workshops are scheduled throughout the year. To Practice: Membership councils provide the opportunity to confer with other leaders on WLP policy and direction, and make decisions regarding faculty awards within the USF System. To Teach: Members can participate in formal and informal mentoring programs with women students throughout the USF System. To Network: Members are encouraged to regularly engage and collaborate with fellow Tampa Bay professionals.

The Benefits of Membership: • Grow established endowment funds that provide scholarship support to USF System students • Support faculty researchers working in fields of study integral to the continued health and welfare of women • Connect with university leaders and top students • Collaborate with other members to direct philanthropic dollars • Enhance the experience of a USF student through mentoring • Belong to a group of professionals making a real difference in your community
