THE DESIGNER About The Designer — Daniella Batlle The designer has lived in different parts of Colombia, from the sea side to the mountains. Her work is evidence of her embrace and combination of the different cultures, traditions and colors of Colombia. She has always had strong links with the fashion industry, due to her mother, former queen of various beauty pageants and fashion columnist. Also, her grandmother was an impeccable dressmaker that owned her own workshop. The two of them introduced Daniella to the world of fashion, surrounded by fabrics, runways and the feminine beauty & aesthetics. From the beginning, she designed garments and prints for a non-profit organization. Subsequently, she became a fashion journalist focused on trends for various newspapers where she worked for several years and later on, as a Design & Pattern Making teacher in a local university. The latter, allowed her to develop her skills and recognize which patterns excel in the market and so she learned how to reinterpret them and present as her own creations.

The brand has been mayorly recognized by fashion editors & fashionistas due to her prints which represent her own voice and also her selection of natural materials such as different kinds of silk (4-ply, chiffon, creppe & gauze) & cotton. Moreover,

Safari Tropical SS18 is a collection inspired by two magical ecosystems merged in one thus its same tropical humid characteristic: the African savannah&thetropicalrainforestoftheAmazon. Moreover, this collection wants to portray a mixture of elements found in these climate zones such as an impassably lush jungle, a savanna full of animal life, heavy rains & exotic hot locations shown in its graphic design & its color selection. The latter, is made up by yellow, royal blue & different shades of green combined in some cases with bright colors like lilac & aqua. Here we showcase fluid silhouettes combined with more structured ones manufactured in natural materials such as silk variations (4-ply, creppe, gauze & chiffon) & cotton, ideal fabrics for warm weathers.

R ECOG N ITIONS In her short career as a fashion designer Daniella has already been part of several influential fashion events locally & internationally. On the international front, in 2016, the designer featured in one of the most prestigious fashion events, New York Fashion Week in Fashion Gallery NYFW and was a guest of honor in the Designer Book Show in Guayaquil, Ecuador where she had a runway show and spoke about her beginnings as a designer. The following year, she took part in the trade show Miami Swim Show 2017 and was a guest of honor in the fashion event Altamoda 2017 in Panamá City. At a national level, she has participated in Plataforma K, Barranquilla Fashion Week, Bogotá Fashion Week and Colombiamoda. This led her to a nomination of the Cromos Awards of Fashion (Designer Revelation 2015, Best Accessories & Compliments 2015 and 2016, Best Designer 2016 and Best Mise-en-Scene 2016), as well as, being the winner of the Designer Revelation award given by Barranquilla Fashion Week for the runway in Colombia Trade Expo in Miami in 2014. Moreover, in Colombiamoda 2015 she was given the privilege of being part of the Vogue Talent Corner for the future editions. Daniella Batlle has been considered by the press and local media as one of the new promises of fashion design in Colombia. Also she was one of the 100 leaders of the society in the “Gerente” magazine due to her commitment to social responsibility in the Colombian fashion industry.
