EASY STEPS FOR BETTER HEALTH

living. I can personally assure you that if you follow the Bible’s advice, not only will you live longer, you will also enjoy life more. Honest! Look at what Jesus says on the subject: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) God does not want to ruin your life––He wants to improve it. Many advertisers try to sell us the good life, but having witnessed firsthand some of the consequences of their value system, I’m not convinced they understand what the good life really is. On the other hand, God does understand, and He is uniquely qualified to comment on the subject. The Creator is able to see the big picture. He knows the end from the beginning. He understands exactly how you are wired, because He designed you. There is more to life than just living longer. We are all familiar with the prediction in Isaiah 7:14 that Jesus would be born to a virgin. However, we rarely look at the next verse: “Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good.” (Isaiah 7:15) The phrase, “curds and honey” (or “butter and honey”), is a symbol in Scripture of adequacy and plenty. God described the land He chose for His people as one filled with “milk and honey,” a land that had everything they needed including adequate nutrition. Isaiah states in this verse that the coming Savior would eat this good food that He might have clear thoughts to “refuse the evil and choose the good.” The prophet Isaiah also describes God’s communication to us when he wrote: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it, whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21) The only way God communicates with us is through our mind, which is our brain. We have special senses that connect us to our internal and external environment. You are reading this book using your sense of sight. You watch television using your eyes and ears. These senses allow you to perceive what is going on right here and now. The only access
