The Downtown Economic Assistance Center is an institutional design project located in downtown San Francisco, California. The design of this assistance center was created by using Revit, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.

These models utilize the ability to conceptually design architecture in three dimensions. The concept for this design work was to complete the urban corner through the building’s form and structural systems. The structure of this building consists of shear walls that provide anchors for the building as well as angled columns to provide for the lateral stability that is required in the environment found in San Francisco. Also, the building comprises a system of louvres that enclose the building’s envelope and provide the proper amount of daylight to enter into the building.

The design of this building consists of four floor plans that incorporate the spaces needed to efficiently run an economic assistance center. These spaces include consultatation offices and classrooms for the clients of the center. Lounges are also provided for the occupants of the building. There are also business offices for the employees as well as conference rooms that can be used as needed. Service areas are also provided within the design of this structure. These areas include a retail store and a cafĂŠ. Not only does this provide an amenity to the occupants of the building, but it also serves the purpose of the economic assistance center by providing employment opportunities for its clients in-house.

The CiCo Park Natatorium is a recreation and athletics design project. It is located in Manhattan, Kansas’ CiCo Park. The design of this structure was created by using Sketchup, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.

cico park natatorium

The design of the CiCo Park Natatorium began with these concept sketches. These sketches were used to develop the overall form of the building. The form was designed to interlock different building geometries into one form that would house the necessary spaces for the natatorium. Also, the overall form of the building was developed around the idea of connecting the context of CiCo park back to the building by aligning each athletic facility within the park along an axis. This creates not only a design connection, but also visual connection from one athletic facility to the other.

The TWA Hotel is a hospitality design project located in the Crossroads district of Kansas City, MO.This project was created by using Revit, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.

twa hotel

The design of the TWA Hotel was developed by taiking the structural elements of the building and placing them onto a grid system. The grid divides the building’s site into modular spaces, which is then reflected within the design of the guest rooms and amenity spaces within the building. The structural elements that are used to create this modular design consist of large shear walls that also act as space-defining planes. The front shear wall is also used as the icon that gives the TWA Hotel a presence from the street.

The Konza Winery is a design project located on the Konza Prairie, which is just outside of Manhattan,KS.This design was created by using Revit, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.

konza winery

These sketch studies were the beginning of the process to develop the design of the Konza Winery. The focus of these studies was to design the form of the building as well as to study the user experience one would have when visiting the Konza Winery. This experience was the driving force for the whole design. The wine-making process is an experience that one rarely gets to see, but having the chance to see it allows for those people to appreciate the beautiful product of wine even more.

The IceStone Factory is an industrial design project located in the Oldtown District of Wichita, KS. The design was created by using Revit, 3ds Max, AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop.

creation of venturi effect

The design concept for the icestone factory is based upon the environment-friendly idea of harnessing wind power. This idea drives the form of the building as well as the building systems design. The wind patterns of Wichita, KS was used to create the form of the building, which was developed to be two forms. These form allows for the Venturi Effect to occur by channeling the wind in between the two forms that create the building. Also, the construction of the building allows for this wind to enter into the building to be used for the building’s systems.

This spatial representation rendering was done by hand using graphite powder and pencil on mat board. This project demonstrates the ability to be able to represent space with a photorealism technique.
