FOUNDED AND HEADQUARTERED in Swedenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s mining capital, Kiruna, NMV Group has a long-standing position as a manufacturer and supplier of products for the mining and tunnelling industry in northern Sweden and beyond. Edvard Nyberg, founder of Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad, was a versatile innovator who displayed great creativity and personal leadership during his working life. From humble beginnings in a garage in Kiruna in 1945, the company was formally established two years later and quickly developed into a leading supplier to the Swedish iron ore mining company Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB) and the Kiruna Mine.

CHARGING VEHICLE FOR OPEN PIT MINING

Our Charging Vehicle for Open Pit Mining is equipped with a remote-controlled hose feeder for high-precision charging of small boreholes. The vehicle is built on a Volvo FMX, a robust chassis designed for extreme working conditions, and is fitted with our in-house developed hose feeder that is mounted on a remote-controlled boom. With fast positioning and high feed force the hose feeder charges 200 kg of finished explosive per minute into small boreholes. The vehicleâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s storage tank holds 16 200 litres, which equals 19 tonnes of explosives. To ensure safe handling there are separate tanks for the various components. The ingredients are mixed in a special mixer housing and a detonable explosive is formed only when the emulsion and gassing agent are pumped into the borehole.

CHARGING VEHICLE FOR CARTRIDGED EXPLOSIVES*

Our Charging Vehicle for Cartridged Explosives is fitted with a charging device that is mounted on a telescopic boom. The robust telescopic boom and charging arm are operated via joystick and the operator controls the positioning and charging functions remotely and safely through digital transmission to a wireless panel. The magazine holds 8 cartridges and larger storage spaces for more cartridges are available on both sides of the vehicle. There are dedicated compartments for other blasting equipment, such as priming charges, detonating cord and detonators.

UPHOLE CHARGING VEHICLE*

Our Uphole Charging Vehicle is a complete solution with advanced safety functions. Designed primarily for the charging of upholes with blasting agents, the vehicle contains emulsion and water tanks, explosives pump, chemical gassing equipment, crane with telescopic boom and a 100-metre hose. Safety functions include an automatic sprinkler system in both engine compartment and electric units, and an optional hydraulic safety roof above the manoeuvring unit. The charging functions can also be operated at a greater safety distance via wireless control.

TUNNEL CHARGING VEHICLE*

Our Tunnel Charging Vehicle is designed for efficient charging processes and maximum safety. The in-house designed boom and basket are controlled from a joystick box and charging of an entire drift cross section of 7 x 7 metres can be completed without having to move the vehicle. The vehicle has double pumps and containers for water, gassing agents and explosives. Safety functions include a hydraulic roof above the manoeuvring unit and an automatic sprinkler system for firefighting in both engine compartment and electric units.

LOW-PROFILE CONCRETE MIXER TRUCK

Our Low-Profile Concrete Mixer Truck has a hydraulically operated discharge hatch on the back of the vehicle and can be equipped with drum lift and a hydraulic discharge chute for longer reach. The truck is dimensioned according to customer requirements and fitted with a 2-12 cubic metre drum mixer that is powered by an electric motor or PTO. Depending on customer requirements, the drum can be fixed or elevatable and fitted with quick couplers, etc.

CONCRETE MIXER DRUM

Our Concrete Mixer Drum is delivered as an attachment, ready to be mounted on a truck. The light and compact design offers great mobility and manoeuvrability through tunnels with small cross sections. The unit is designed for low tare weight and long lifetime. The sub-frame can be customised to fit a wide variety of mining vehicles.

LOW-PROFILE HOOKLIFT CONCRETE MIXER

We take the flexibility of hooklift technology underground with this Low-Profile Hooklift Concrete Mixer that is designed to fit the standard for hooklift trucks. For use above ground the drum can be full-size.

MULTI-USE WATER TRUCK

This multi-use vehicle for dust control, water scaling and borehole cleansing is equipped with a 10 cubic metre water tank and a 9.5 metre crane with hose feeder. The vehicle has 6 individual spraying sections and effectively wets tunnels with 360-degree coverage. There are joystick-controlled water cannons in the front and back. The rear cannon is mounted on the crane and can be used for water scaling of overhangs or stops in shaft openings. The tip of the hose has a connector for a spraying nozzle or a water powered drill hammer for the cleaning of clogged boreholes.

DOWEL HOLE DRILL UNIT

Our Dowel Hole Drill Unit can be built on many different carriers. The picture shows the attachment built on a LĂ¤nnen 860C. The example vehicle is equipped with 2 x 400 water tanks and a crane boom that enables drilling at heights of up to 8 metres.

CABLE TRUCK

ANALYSIS RIG

The vehicle brings a fresh cable from the workshop to the wheel loader and connects to the mineâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s 1000 V. The damaged cable is spooled onto the Cable Truck, after which the fresh cable is spooled onto the wheel loader. The cable reel is manoeuvred remotely. This mode of operation minimises the downtime of the wheel loader.

The truck body machine is fitted with precision hole-depth measuring equipment and can be operated with high precision at both high and very low hose speeds. The machine and measuring probe communicate via a cable that is well protected inside the charging hose.

Our Cable Truck is designed for efficient replacement of damaged electric cables on wheel loaders operating at the loading sites in the mine.

Our multipurpose Analysis Rig for mining applications can be used to perform borehole analysis with different measuring probes or to mount experiment equipment inside boreholes.

Our Light Crane Truck is a reliable partner in the field. The truck boasts a robust steel bed with integrated hydraulic support legs and a crane that can lift 230 kg when fully extended. The ideal weight balance between the front and back axles provides perfect support to the HIAB 008T crane. The truckâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s effective load weight is 500 kg. We are proud to have successfully developed a tough service vehicle that offers high flexibility and excellent ergonomics for the operator.

GEN III is designed for pump charging of mainly upward drill holes but can also be used for cleaning drill holes when equipped with a drill hammer and water cannon, and for inserting measuring probes for shaft and borehole analysis. During product development we have focused on the safety aspects of rock work and explosive charging. To promote a safe work environment, our new hose feeder is designed for reduced noise levels and minimised risk of overheating. Unlike its predecessors, Gen III is based on wheel feeding rather than chain feeding. The result is a powerful and consistent feed that causes little wear on the hose. Since these specially designed wheels last longer than chains, our new hose feeder also offers lower operating costs. Booms from BTI Rockbreaker Systems come standard with fully proportional electro-hydraulic control from twin joysticks operating a fully proportional, load sensing directional control valve providing precise and variable control of all boom functions. The basic system can be modified to suit many needs, including additional control pendants for maintenance and long distance applications. Optional equipment and many different boom options are available.

MORTAR CRUSHER NMK

OUR MORTAR CRUSHER NMK is a laboratory mortar crusher designed for research and quality assessment of mineral materials. This proven solution is used by several laboratories in Europe and North America.

Introduced in the late 1980s, the Mortar Crusher was originally intended for sample preparation but thanks to its sturdy and robust design the crusher has also proved suitable for other applications in laboratories and pilot plants. Designed for easy cleaning and maintenance, the Mortar Crusher NMK can be used for intermittent or continuous fine-crushing of mineral materials. The maximum feed size is approx. 25 mm, which is mainly used for fine-graining of 5 mm to 200 microns. The Mortar Crusher NMK, or a combination of two crushers, can be adapted to different capacity and product requirements. The size of the final product is easy to set with three lock nuts. Available from NMV Group is also a sample divider that portions the ground sample according to a pre-decided percentage. The number of portions and percentage can be customised.

NMX ROCK BOLTS

RELIABLE ROCK REINFORCEMENT

NMX ROCK BOLTS

NMV GROUP has been manufacturing rock bolts since 1968. Among the products we have developed is the tried and tested Kiruna Bolt, NMX Static, which has been described as a link between efficiency and safety. The Kiruna Bolt has been used in Swedenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s underground mines for over 40 years, and is known for its unique time- and cost-saving qualities. Our product range also includes NMX Dynamic and NMX Dynamic 2.0 â&#x20AC;&#x201C; two dynamic rock bolts which are the only ones of their kind, with a specially hardened thread that is thicker than the diameter of the rest of the bolt. This unique design means that the thread of the bolt can never break, ensuring the stress-relieving function of the washer on the exterior of the rock mass.

1. NMX DYNAMIC

The dynamic steel function sleeve with a smooth surface that covers the rebar, is intended to prevent the rock bolt adhering to the grout in this area. This mechanism allows the steel in the rock bolt inside the area of the function sleeve to stretch naturally and freely. Because of the stretching of the steel, the forces induced as a result of high rock tensions can be absorbed by the rock bolt and thereby have a relieving effect on the rock mass and minimise the consequences of rockbursts. The other parts of the exposed rebar ensure that there is complete anchoring. NMX Dynamic is 20 mm with M24 thread in the basic version, and is also available in a 22 mm version with M27 thread with exceptional dynamic qualities.

2. NMX DYNAMIC 2.0

The latest version of NMX Dynamic has a longer dynamic function sleeve which extends all the way to the thread. This gives the bolt an energy-absorbing capacity even near the rock face, which relieves the bolt's thread. The compressed anchors on the sleeve also mean that the bolt can initially be subjected to static loading even in its outer part before the dynamic characteristics come into play. The bolt's total energy-absorbing capacity is increased by this function.

3. NMX STATIC – THE KIRUNA BOLT

Our range also includes the tried and tested Kiruna Bolt, which is used where rock tensions are lower and there is no need for dynamic rock reinforcement. The static rock bolts have the same dimensions on the thread as on the rebar.

COMPACT CRANE

Our Compact Crane is specially developed for restricted and demanding work environments such as mines and tunnels. The crane is a folding boom on a slewing ring with two extensions and a total reach of 9.5 metres. When designed for work above ground, the crane can be dimensioned for much larger work areas. SERVICE WAGON

Our Service Wagon is specially designed for performing salvage and track clean-up after derailments. A flexible construction allows the wagon to run on both roads and on rail tracks with rail wheels. Designed with the specific requirements of underground work in mind, the wagon is equipped with both interior and exterior work lights. Roller doors in all directions allow easy access to equipment even in confined spaces.

COIL CARRIERS Our Coil Carriers are self-loading and unloading and designed to lift, transport and stack coils. Coils are stacked horizontally, with eyes to the side. Typical transport: from the hot strip mill to the cold strip mill for processing, or to storage yard to await shipment.

KIRUNA TRUCK — A COMPANY THAT WAS FOUNDED IN KIRUNA IN 1959.

WHEN KIRUNA TRUCK was acquired by GIA Industri in 1998, the production was moved to a different part of Sweden and Kiruna’s long history of truck manufacturing come to an end. However, nearly 15 years later, when GIA was bought by Atlas Copco, another Kiruna-based company seized the chance of bringing truck manufacturing back to town; Nybergs Mekaniska Verkstad acquired Kiruna Truck’s product range for steelworks and smelters and in 2012 Kiruna Utility Vehicles was established, as part of the NMV Group.

KIRUNA WAGON is a manufacturing company within the NMV Group that specialises in the custom design and manufacture of ore and bulk wagons for the Nordic and international market. In 2017, Kiruna Wagon was awarded the Swedish Steel Prize for its wagon system Helix Dumper, which offers a completely new technology for the efficient unloading of fine-grained minerals.

BD — BOTTOM DUMPER

The Bottom Dumper is optimised for heavy transport and high-capacity continuous discharge of easily unloaded commodities, such as pellets and rock. Fast unloading is a key feature of the robust Bottom Dumper. The wagon is designed for rolling discharge and has an unloading capacity of up to 20,000 tonnes per hour. Thanks to its modular design, a damaged body or bottom door can be replaced within two hours. The Bottom Dumper unloading station is a low-cost solution designed to provide a reliable service in temperatures ranging from −40 to +60 °C. The solution is tested and proven in a demanding subarctic climate.

HD — HELIX DUMPER

The award winning Helix Dumper combines optimal productivity with simplicity. The Helix Dumper is built for continuous, rolling discharge and is the wagon of choice for small fractions and tough-flowing commodities that are not suitable for bottom discharge. The Helix Dumper has an unloading capacity of up to 25,000 tonnes per hour. When unloading, the body of the Helix Dumper is rotated while the chassis remains on the rails. The rotation, along with the round shape of the body, creates optimal conditions for effective rolling discharge of fine-grained heavy bulk, including sticky materials. The HD unloading station is a robust and low-cost solution that has no moving or motorised parts and requires no additional power supply.

RD — ROCK DUMPER

The Rock Dumper with bottom discharge is a heavy-duty concept capable of handling drop loaded boulders in sizes up to 1500 mm and unloading at a discharge rate of up to 17,000 tonnes per hour. The wagon is dimensioned for a small drift with, in the case of the LKAB Kiruna Mine, a width of 2056 mm and a height of 1825 mm. The rail gauge is only 891 mm. These dimensions can be adjusted according to customer needs. The Rock Dumper is optimised for easy maintenance and its main wear surfaces are repaired through an efficient maintenance program. The compact solution of the Rock Dumper represents more than 30 years of optimisation for large fractions and narrow spaces.

SD — SIDE DUMPER The new-generation Side Dumper offers the world’s highest productivity when it comes to roofed, side tipping wagons for heavy dry bulk. The wagon is more than 20 percent lighter than its predecessor and considerably lighter than most comparable wagons on the market. The SD is optimised for sealed and secure transport of hazardous, sensitive or highly refined high-density dry bulk commodities, including sticky and dusty materials. The SD is based on Kiruna Wagon's patented modular logistics system in which a standard chassis is combined with different, customised and interchangeable load carriers that are easily swapped, depending on the type of cargo to be transported. The system allows for an increased production flexibility and represents a safer long-term investment. The robust and low-cost SD unloading station is a very simple solution – all hydraulic components are of the standard type that is used for example in wheel loaders and trucks. For greatest discharge capacity, up to four SD unloading stations can be used simultaneously. This gives an unloading capacity of up to 15,200 tonnes per hour. • ULTRALIGHT FOR ULTRAHIGH PRODUCTIVITY
