School Overview Dance is for everyone!

Operating from 7 locations in the North Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide with the main studio located in Highbury , the Jane Grech Dance Centre offers quality dance tuition for children from the age of 2 years. Learning dance should be fun! Our Mission Statement is to offer a commitment to families through quality of service, competitive fees, and a positive experience where we can share our love of dance. We believe dance should be accessible to everyone, and have therefore positioned our programs in Community venues to ensure they are both local and affordable. JGDC has several program streams to choose from, and these have been designed to cater for the different learning styles of individual students. Dance is not a competitive sport, but a creative art. We do not enter students into competitions, but rather encourage them to continually improve against themselves. As a result we have fostered a supportive, relaxed and friendly culture which is community minded. Students of the Core Programs can be assessed, but this is discussed with the individual and the teacher. Performance

opportunities are offered to students wishing to participate with costume fees kept to a reasonable price, with no sewing involved. The founder and Director, Jane Grech, teaches Classical Ballet and has done so for 15 years. She has a Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management, a Graduate Diploma of Dance Teaching and a Certificate in Pilates Instruction. She is an Assessor for Australian Dance Vision, allowing her the opportunity to assess the standard of Dance at a National level. Jane leads a highly experienced and energetic team, all who are supported and encouraged to continually build on their skills and knowledge. The team meets regularly to discuss ways of improving the Centre and their individual teaching. Our guiding principle is that all students who have come under our care will look back on their time learning ballet and dance as a positive and enjoyable experience, where they felt encouraged, valued and cared for. In addition the aims of the school are to: • Share and maintain students natural love of dance and movement. • Promote health, wellbeing, creativity and self-confidence.

• Build self-esteem, poise and confidence through praise and encouragement. Show dance is for everyone and has many benefits including: Co-ordination, self discipline and self motivation, concentration and focus, communication and creative expression, co-operation through teamwork, courtesy, manners and caring for others. Highlights • 100% pass rate in Australian Dance Vision Assessments. • JGDC students accepted into the Australian Youth Classical Ballet. • Finalist in 2008 Messenger Local Business Awards. • Finalist in 2010 Telstra National Business Awards. • Winner of 2010 Australian Ballet ‘Dance the Dream’ competition. • Performance Team. • Student Teacher Training Program.
