us. Caught up over dinner; it was fun. I’m selling tide clocks and clocks with my artwork. They have taken off as my newest wholesale line. Here’s a link to the catalog that I recently put together: www.issuu. com/marthaeverson/docs/martha_everson_ art_gift_catalog2017. The life of the artistic sole entrepreneur: always looking for new customers or shops if you can think of any in your neck of the woods. I’m still doing the art shows but it’s getting harder and I’m stiffer than I want to admit. Love to see you all again.” Mary Fish Arango writes, “We are thriving in southern Oregon, and a huge fruit and vegetable garden is going in for its second year. We love growing enough to give away all summer long. My dog training business is taking off, and I have six classes a week in two different dog agility arenas on our property. I continue to do photography for dog calendars and books, and we are enjoying setting up different colorful landscaping areas on our two and a half acres. Our daughter Grayson is finishing a year as house director in Johnston D and loving Dana Hall. I expect to visit her mid-September and would love to see classmates who are in the area. Our son Bailey lives near us and has taken a new marketing and research position with a startup Internet company— exhilarating and exciting. I have taken up swimming and had no idea how much I would love swimming 3,000 yards a day. Music through underwater headphones! Who knew? Best wishes to all! One year NED (no evidence of disease) after breast cancer and counting…” Betsy Jackson Fear writes, “This is the year our eldest, Charlie (30), became engaged to Heather. Their marriage is in September. Charlie also became a teacher and is teaching 7th grade science at his alma mater, Bath Middle School. Our youngest, Sam (26), started graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design. He is studying industrial design. Mike and I decided to replace the 24 windows in our 1799 house in Woolwich, Maine. Ten months, and 45 windows later, we are nearly done with renovating the 1799 and 1983 portions of the house. There was more rot in the ‘new’ section than the old! Now it feels like it’s our house! We have four spare bedrooms, no downsizing here, so do come visit!”

Class of 1976 Lynn Surprenant lynnsurp76@gmail.com Lisa Maini writes, “All is well here. Dad is home and on hospice. I am getting a lot of support from the VNA of Cape Cod, and I suspect their services are just as good elsewhere. Hospice opened my eyes to a whole new world of caregiving. It’s not about dying—it is about living in comfort. I highly recommend looking into it if and when it might be an appropriate service for elder care.” Melisa Stern writes, “I am feeling incredibly proud to be a Dana alumna after attending She Sails with my daughter! It was an amazing event showcasing just how incredible Dana women are! I highly recommend you and all of our classmates make an effort to attend future She Sails. It is definitely worth the time and effort for those who would travel a distance.” I (Lynn Surprenant) have included a photo of Diane Furman Ross, Mary Gannett Crowell and me. We were at the Dana Hall Boston Holiday Party last December. Beth Heard Laffey also attended but left before we had a time for a photo op. It was a great time to catch up and meet the new Head of School Katherine L. Bradley. Again I would encourage more classmates to attend next year! Class of 1977 Kelly Hynes McDermott P04 khmcdermott@comcast.net We enjoyed our 40th Reunion at Dana Hall in April. Quite a milestone with

photos and plenty of memories, I’m sure, to be shared in the next Bulletin! I (Kelly Hynes McDermott) had the distinct pleasure of having lunch with Martha Groton this past March with a dear friend of mine who happens to be a new neighbor of Martha’s in Sherborn. Martha reported that she also enjoyed having lunch with Corinne Corrigan Daniels at her home, and wishes her a great adventure in Switzerland. Martha is busy keeping up with home improvements, both large and small. Betsy Winans Carothers and her husband Mike decided to make a lifestyle change and moved out of Illinois after 26 years down to Vero Beach, Fla. They will be there for about 7–8 months a year, then onto Cape Cod for the summer months. Sue Milnes is also in Vero Beach for roughly the same time period, so they have had fun playing an occasional golf game together. Betsy reports that there are many Dana Hall alums in the area, so there was a luncheon at The Riomar Club, which Betsy sponsored, and roughly 16 Dana alums attended. Betsy hopes any others who venture down that way will look her up and come visit!

Sara Tedesco Tagget is excited to announce that her son Blake married his fiance Savannah on New Year’s Eve 2016. She writes, “It was a very small but lovely wedding in Savannah, Ga. They have made their new home in Louisville, Colo., and are enjoying lots of hiking with their dog, Harley.” On another topic, Sara reports that her daughter, Katrina aka Kara, is not forgotten. Their fundraising efforts for the nonprofit Katrina Tagget Memorial Foundation (www.KatrinaTagget.org) have raised more than $200,000 which has all been donated to organizations that are spreading awareness and education for mental illness and suicide prevention. “I am very grateful for the support we have received these past eight and a half years of our journey. Our work doesn’t bring our
