Dedicated to Nancy Mortarelli

It is a pleasure and an honor to dedicate this year’s Mirage to the great Ms. Nancy Mortarelli. In her 30+ years at Dana Hall, Ms. Mortarelli has met with and befriended countless students and families; she truly doesn’t know a stranger. Here are a few things that colleagues and students have to say about this remarkable woman: • “When you leave a conversation with Nancy, you feel ten feet tall. She lifts you up and lls you up.” • “Nancy is so loving and welcoming. e door is open for everyone, every day; I stop by and talk to her whenever I have a chance. And no--she’s not my advisor. She was my admissions counselor for middle school, six years ago!” • “She advances Dana Hall’s mission e ortlessly by making everyone she meets feel seen, heard, and valued.” • “She is the most generous person on earth, both in giving of her time and heart and tangible gifts.
She is there to o er a glass of water, a cup of hot chocolate, or a snack to anyone who walks through the admission door.”
• “Nancy is sel ess and she operates out of love, kindness, and fairness. She’s motivated by her propensity to help others and does not want any attention or credit for what she does.” • “Nancy is a phenomenal woman and a supreme colleague and admission professional. She’s leaving an indelible legacy at Dana Hall!” Ms. Mortarelli has brought us together in so many ways over the years. And by bringing so many creative students to our school, she has raised the bar for Mirage. We will miss Ms. Mortarelli’s positive presence, keen insight, and sparkling sense of humor. In her time here, she has made us a better place, and we wish her all the best in her new adventures.
